Suarez sounds likely but Townsend maybe off to Newcastle? http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport...e-fee-for-tottenham-winger-townsend-1-7695836
http://www.thisisanfield.com/2016/0...d-seal-cut-price-jerome-sinclair-move-report/ I wonder how long it will be before someone shouts, "unfair".
It's one thing agreeing a fee, quite another for the player to agree to the move. If he really wants to come to Watford and we match or slightly improve the fee agreed with Newcastle.......?
It was like watching the latter Loach..scary stuff. If Gomes had been out for any length of time we would have been in big trouble! Well done Flores
I think if we were going to do that we would have done it by now. He played last night for Liverpool u21 so I think he will come direct when his contract runs out or now if Liverpool accept the situation and agree to a lower fee. If this deal happens it will be the first time this type of deal has gone our way, until now we have considered ourselves powerless to stop the big boys 'stealing' from us.
Just watching Sky sports news and they were playing the "where's he gone?" game. There was a picture of QSF in the background. Safe to say my blood pressure has dropped back to safe levels!
Getting closer! 17:32 Breaking... please log in to view this image Watford have won the race to sign Mario Suarez. We are told that the Spain international is on his way to England on a private jet, organised by Watford FC, with his wife Malena Costa. He will have his medical in the morning and barring any last-minute hitches, will sign for the Hornets. please log in to view this image
please log in to view this image NEWS / TRANSFERS / WATFORD FC “We did it” beams Watford executive as Mario Suarez jets in to sign JAN 27, 2016BY KEVIN AFFLECK0 Watford will pay £4.1m for Spanish international Mario Suarez plus significant add ons, according to a senior club official. As we exclusively revealed at tea time today, Suarez has travelled to England this evening with his wife onboard a private jet laid on by the club. He will stay at a Hertfordshire hotel tonight and will undergo his two-part medical tomorrow under the watchful eye of head of medical Richard Collinge and one of the club doctors, Ian Hamilton or Ritan Mehta. “It’s true, we have found a breakthrough, but there are still some details to sort out,” Watford sporting executive Nicola Salerno told Radio Bruno in Italy this evening. “Tomorrow he should be here and we can finalise everything along with the medical. We did it. “Is the fee €5.5m [£4.1m] plus bonuses? Yes, that’s more or less accurate, but we have to wait because we haven’t made it all official yet.” please log in to view this image Picture by Paul Dawson The signing of Suarez is arguably the biggest in the club’s history, in terms of the status of a player. The 28-year-old played in the same Spain midfield as Xavi, Iniesta and Koke two and a half years ago and cost Fiorentina £10.5m in the summer. It says much for the persuasive powers of owner Gino Pozzo, chief executive Scott Duxbury and head coach Quique Sanchez Flores that Watford initially fought off competition from Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion and then a late, late bid from Valencia who, we are told, threw the proverbial kitchen sink at the player, offering a significantly higher salary, signing on fee and loyalty bonus. please log in to view this image The signing represents a huge statement of intent by the club and will delight Sanchez Flores who worked with the player at Atletico Madrid and sees him as crucial in this new-look three man midfield he is fielding. The completion of the deal, which judging by the contracts given to Nordin Amrabat and Costel Pantilimon, will be three-and-a-half years probably won’t go through in time for him to feature at Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, but he should, all things being equal, be involved against Chelsea.
Wednesday’s attempts to convert Daniel Pudil’s loan into a permanent switch have hit a stumbling block. As revealed by The Star a fortnight ago, the Owls have been in dialogue with Pudil’s parent club Watford over capturing the left-back on a full-time basis. But the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement on a fee for the Czech Republic international, with Wednesday understood to be pushing for a cut-price deal. Pudil, who has played 25 times for the Owls since arriving on a season-long loan from the Premier League club, has 18 months remaining on his Hornets contract.
Watford have had an offer for Liverpool striker Jerome Sinclair rejected, sources have told ESPN FC. Sinclair, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season and has informed the Reds he will not be signing a new deal and would like to leave Anfield in search of regular first-team football. He scored on his full debut in the 2-2 FA Cup draw at Exeter earlier this month, but with the player indicating his intentions to depart, Liverpool are ready to sell him now rather than let him see out his contract and lose him for free in the summer
Flores reiterated when speaking to the press this morning that Watford would still like to bring in another winger if possible. However, he insists if the right player isn’t available the Hornets will wait until the summer. “We are talking about wingers and until the last moment we will,” he says. “But if we don’t have the right player we will wait until the summer.”
If we want Sinclair we'll probably have to do it now. If he's on a free in the summer he'll have loads more options.
