http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/statement-2922024.aspx A complete waste of space, how long did it take the politburo to come up with this load of nothing.
I'm sort of surprised they even did it. Mind you, they levels of hatred they are bringing down on themselves are something else. Who'd have imagined this after that 2-1 win at home to Hull. It just goes to show any one can do or say something stupid, but it takes a real talent for idiocy to be able to sustain it for months at a time. We'll never know whether the order to remove the banner came from Pinocchio, but from there it's just embarrassment after cock up. The whole weekend seemed to suggest our Belgian overlords have finally realised this is not going to go away, and are vaguely looking at a stronger response. From what has been said on CL though, some of the nastier bits of the fans being ejected happened in the foyer. I don't know if that will be on film, but if the rumours are true, I hope the fans in question bypass the club completely and go straight to a fans group who will set the club straight about customer welfare.
As someone put on twitter and I retweeted... if it was legit and all good, why not show better CCTV footage?
What an incredible state of affairs at Charlton in 2016, when the CEO of the Club cannot move freely around the stadium on the match day without bodyguards. She had 2 or 3 absolute bell ends with her on Saturday - the fat geezer who looks like a superannuated Ross Kemp clearly thinks that he is auditioning for the US Secret Service The stewards make me laugh- put them in a High Viz jacket and they think they are Vin Diesel - most of them would wet their pants if they ever joined the real Armed Forces.
or maybe a mass sit in after the game and everyone filming stewards at every possiable moment. Show that we wont be put up with Bully's and the club have to fork out Overtime hitting the pocket
i thought of people bringing A4 printed letters to form words. e.g. ROLAND OUT, 'MARE IS A TWAT they cant take them from anyone. and they wouldnt kick out that many people.
How on earth do they contact anonymous faces in a cctv video ? I wish i could close my eyes and we are back competing in the CC with a squad of atleast 50% locals and Management that cares.
The official bull sh1t for removing the banner was that it was obscuring the sponsor's sign [Andrews]
tweet andrew sykes. they cant be happy with what the club are doing. they handed over cash for a target audience of 16000. they're getting 9000 (if that), a large chunk of that being away fans who have no interest in buying a freezer in south east london.
Everyone wears the V for Vendetta Mask, holding banners saying "RolandOut" if we're anonymous they cannot identify us!
Rich Pemberton has put the following up: ''Important. Re the ejection last Saturday, a statement from Gwen and Josh, who don't intend to comment further. --- Gwen and Josh Gowers would like to clarify the facts of Josh's ejection from the ground at the Blackburn game, having had an opportunity to review the incident and the CCTV footage with the club. They are happy to confirm that at no point was Josh grabbed by a steward or forcibly removed from his seat. Gwen would like to clarify that she was neither hit nor punched by a steward but accidentally knocked in the face, and this had been resolved with the steward there and then. She regrets that supporters reacted to her previous comments on social media in the way that they did, and would like to advise that all parties agree the matter is now closed. The facts of the incident are these: - Josh was instructed by a steward to remove a banner displayed over the advertising hoarding. Unfortunately Josh reacted by directing verbal abuse towards the steward, for which he subsequently apologised. In response the steward did not grab Josh, but he did place his hand on Josh’s shoulder twice, which Josh did not welcome. - When Josh subsequently hung the banner over the hoarding once more, a senior steward came down to ask Josh to go with him to discuss the situation with him calmly away from the crowd, which he did peaceably. - As Josh had failed to comply with the steward’s initial instruction, and because his reaction was deemed by the club to have been aggressive, Josh was ejected from the ground on the instruction of the Safety Officer. - Gwen was not asked to leave her seat at any time, but accompanied Josh as he was ejected. The police persuaded the stewards to allow her to leave the ground briefly to check Josh was ok and then return to her seat. Gwen and Josh have asked the club to make their policy regarding banners more clear, perhaps by publishing something on the official website. She felt that had they understood why the steward was instructing them to remove it the incident might have been avoided. They do accept, however, that this was not a reason for Josh to ignore the instructions he received.'' Not sure about the rest of you - but I feel very disappointed by the individuals involved in the incident. I wasn't at the game, so didn't feel fair to comment on the situation, however, I interacted with Gwen on Facebook afterwards to send my support. The picture painted was a wholesale difference to whats being reported now - and feel the rest of the fans were used to garner support for their wrongdoing (not so much Gwen to be fair).
The thought police have instructed us not to bring any banners that might challenge the great leader or his acolytes into the ground at fear of expulsion by the Little arm of the law (season ticket membership clause). This freedom of expression is even tolerated by the Man Utd. owning Americans and the Chelsea owning Russian who are intelligent enough to know that taking down banners which do not please them just causes the protest to grow in number. The thought police have just managed to explain to Gwen and her son that they will lose their season tickets if they do not agree to their statement that all is well in the world of 1984.
I'm not so sure - I think it reads they are a bit embarrassed by the commotion their stories told. I can't say too much as wasn't there and only briefly saw the video, but it does sound like in the heat of the moment they played off the fans anger.
