    Last sentence is accurate.

The rest of it is a hilarious exercise in crap logic, made-up facts, and general idiocy.

Saw a trailer which looked all right. The humour was of the right style.

Just read a review which says its pretty good, though sometimes falls a little short of the TV original. However, that is always the problem when remaking a classic. Probably best if you know the original, but can't repeat every word. :)

There was a great play on the BBC at Christmas called "We're Doomed", which was the story of the struggling actor who wanted to write, Jimmy Perry, and how he got together with a BBC producer, David Croft, and pitched him the idea he had for a series. The cast was great, featuring people like John Sessions as Arthur Lowe, who could never remember his lines unless there was an audience, and Mark Heap playing Clive Dunn. Perry and Croft even wrote the theme song, "Who Do You Think You Are Kidding, Mr. Hitler", which the veteran singer Bud Flanagan, played by Roy Hudd, recorded in a single take. A great show which you can watch on the iPlayer here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06t3m7t

Just realised we're not on Koeman's, sorry about being led so far off-topic!

Hey, no problem. This thread would have otherwise died by now. I knew about the Bud Flanagan story and that Perry & Croft had written the theme. Up until about the early 1990's I thought it had been a WWII song and then my old Dad told me it wasn't. I think it was one of the first things I looked up on the Net to confirm.

I shall watch the programme with interest though.

I think a lot of people thought the theme was an old song....perhaps because it was sung by Flannigan. It should have been....would have been very popular.

It's amazing the stuff that's out there from the war which has been forgotten or relatively unknown because people wanted to forget about it. I watch a lot of programmes, such as antique and countryside shows and random stuff is often mentioned. A programme about canals revealed that all the canals were lined with pill boxes to prevent them from being used. An antique programme pointed out a concrete box and then mentioned that all the roads from the coast to London were protected by flame throwers. In a house renovation programme, the designer was shown strange electrical cables in a garage....revealed to be the remnants of a radio centre for the British Resistance (which thankfully was not needed). An old lady whose family discovered after her death that she was the leader of a resistance cell.

Of course nothing would be secret now....we'd have lost the war because kids would have tweeted our secrets worldwide....what would the safety of your country matter compared with a lot of likes on the Internet.
