Morning all. Yes weve made progress but its not as quick as wed hoped. We need to push to the next level of buying 6 to 8m pound strikers to aim for the top two. And thats what we have to aspire to. The play offs are little more than a lottery so were actually 19 points shy of where we need to be. That will take huge investment, not just the odd tweek here or there. Ill be damned if I know where its going to come from. Some want Cellino out so will a new owner have the stomach or the pockets to invest the required small fortune to move us to the next level? Others holding out hopes that Pearson or others will form some sort of alliance with Cellino and also pour a fortune into the club. Is that likely? I think not. Third option may just see us carry on for years on the current path of selling to buy and hope the purchases are better than the sales. Like I said, damned if I know whats next but at least the ship has been steadied big time for now
probably sat at home twiddling his thumbs mate, I really miss his posts, even though they were repetitive
yeah, happy days, was great seeing him giving that fella, forget his name now, a binman I think he was, a good daily arsekicking,
Just my opinion.... Leeds United are not treated any different to anyone else, we have been damn lucky in a few matches and in others the decision has gone the other way. No way are ref's told by the FL to treat us any different or to be more strict with their decisions, it just beggars belief. This recent quote from Evans relates to decisions on the pitch, we were denied a penalty because we are Leeds (what a prick he is), the other week Bellusci blatantly pulled down a Sheff W player in the box and it was ignored, 99 times out of 100 that would be a penalty. In regards to non match events, Cellino rattles the cages and he expects them not to bark? Cellino tries to take them on, he tries to get around the laws, he appeals everything and he runs Leeds United like a circus, of course they are going to clamp down on him and hit him with every opportunity. The authorities haven't got it in for Leeds United, they might have for the owner(s) past and present but they have themselves to blame. I like what Evans is doing with the players, I cringe when he opens his mouth.
As a matter of interest Ristac, who would be the last manager that didnt make us cringe. Back to O leary, Wise, Venables, Redders, Blackwell, Warnock, Hock, Graham. Name one? They all spout ****e, its what managers do, divert attention from their failings or brag about their successes. Its what they achieve with the players that matters and as you said hes doing better than a hell of a lot of his predecessors. Also makes a decent, seemingly honest attempt at explaining why players are dropped from team or included when asked
I didn't mind what Wise or Graham had to say, I can't remember them being as bad as Evans in front of the camera. Yes divert attention away but stop playing it's the "because we are Leeds" card, it really stinks.
I don't know how old you are Ristac, but my comments were based on many many incidents which have occurred over the years to this club before and after my 43+ years of support and not just based on the last 12 years and not just things dpne by the FA, the League, but also by UEFA, refs, journos etc etc. So forgive me for being paranoid. I agreed with you regarding Evans comments, but this clubs success was built on togetherness and a siege mentality and I would love if the modern day player at the club showed even 50% of that attitude.
