no we won 3.... and then two minor plates the following season. The fact is the FA cup 4th round is v west ham who've tonked us twice this season and we've played 120 mins yesterday while they have a full squad car maybe carroll and thier feet up. Its a huge ask to turn round for this FA cup tie.
not really... what you mean is stay over and celebrate cos the trains still don't run. and if you stay over then i can equally say so what if its sunday.. take the day off Monday....
Very true.. but we can't be that bad again.. can we? Plus, its a Final, if you can't get up for one of them, then, well, I'm lost for words!
Even without the midweek fixture I don't rate our chances against West Ham, from being a team we rarely had a problem against we had a nightmare against them this season and I don't see that changing with their better players back from injury. A draw is possible but that would only add an extra game to what is going to be a busy Feb with the EL about to restart.
Many. I'd downgrade a few of them by 1 at least. As I'm too lazy to do individuals, and it is a team game after all, I'd give the whole team a 6. And that only because we won.
We're sure winners then. Football being the perverse pastime it is, the more the odds are stacked against you- the more likely you are to come through.
What jnpresses me is he knows he doesn't have great pace so gets tight to the players and doesn't allow them to turn. Watch the difference between him and Moreno. Amount of times Flanno got right up behind Arnautovic and forced him backwards, compared to Moreno standing off and allowing player to turn. They can then run at Moreno, he has the pace to sometimes be able to cope bit Flanno is such a better defender in those situations.
the tight marking often stops the opposition passing to that player too, hence our right side being quieter than the left
He's slightly ahead of the rest of the line. Then the midfield were bypassed and he was in a position to intercept the ball. That's being proactive. Won't fault him on his positioning but if you're going to step out of line, then you better be winning the ball. The bigger issues were the fact that Lucas, our DM is doing little, and Flanno loses his man and Kolo doesn't spot the danger man. Even then, their man was offside.
Lol ironic given how you love to throw the scapegoat tag if anyone dares to criticise certain players. Moreno will receive criticism for his part and rightly so but not for his positioning. If a player is in a position, you would want him to intercept. His problem is that he failed in his execution. Stokes left side forward scored the goal - who is suppose to track him? Who plays down our right flank and is supposed to tracking players? By all means criticise Moreno, and Flanno did ok all things considered - but don't absolve his errors. It's the same with Lucas - our DM does not track runners.
Why did they target them? I don't know - but they did a good job on him. I'm surprised Moreno struggled Considering he was double teamed. I'm guessing everyone has now forgotten how he has been pretty good this season. Moreno is below average defensively - I said that before he signed. But he's still young and raw with a lot of potential. Context - Flanno and Moreno are the same age. Quite clear that Moreno will and already has enjoyed more success.
Read the comments and you'll find I've said he can't defend and we should play him further forward. If I was scapegoating him then I'd be saying he isn't good enough to play at all every week irrelevant of his performance Stoke's left sided player scored the goal from a central position. The CB's had it covered but for the lack of a LB! Lucas isn't playing DM, he's playing as part of a central three.
