You've obviously got a fine memory! But I'm in my forties and can only remember 82 season when I was 14 but I'm sure I would have gone earlier but it's just not coming to me!
Statto here.. 28 games played 56 points if you're not good on the sums that gives us an average of 2 puntos per game.. where is the extra point being lost?? Bruce out
I'm in my 40s too & like you my Dad reckons he took me to see City lose to Stoke 0-4 in around 1986.. can't remember that one but do recall 1989 vs West Ham, Big Billy scored in a 1-1
Ask Rotherham if we can have those 3 back as they probably won't be needing them. It's the sporting thing to do.
I'm off longhill & lived near Andy (floppy) flounders so all the kids used to go watch him! But I'm f'ked if I can remember my first
Thank you Blue, I am fine except for those complaints that affect most 83 years olds. As you will know Blue I have supported Hull City since 1946 but I couldn't remember them winning a league, yet I can remember City's Team from that period.
On the 31st of August this year we can both celebrate the 70th anniversary of the day we saw Hull City play their first league match at Boothferry Park against Lincoln City. It was the day before my 8th birthday. TigerRoo on here was also there but I don't know of any others.
65/66 was my first season as well. didn't get to every game, my dad often had to work Saturdays and we lived out of town. It was probably the best introduction for a new supporter. We won a lot (unbeaten after September) and scored goals for fun. I thought it would always be like that. What amazed me was the sheer number of people in one place at one time. By '68 I was allowed to go on my own. I was already getting the train into Hull for school so the parents didn't have a good argument to say I couldn't do it on a Saturday as well. It was a couple of years after that before they would let me go to away games unaccompanied.
My first game was the first game of the 1966/67 season but I forget who it was against. I was a plastic who started going, because we had got promoted from Div 3 as champions.
Glad I'm not the only one who can't remember their first game. I think mine was in 1978. We beat Barcelona 6-2, with De Vries scoring four and Eddie Blackburn saving two penalties.
Not too many on here have seen that iconic pair play in the same match at Boothferry Park. I was one who was lucky enough to do so and we won this match 2-0. Will you celebrate your 70th birthday this year?
