Why do we even need managers? Everyone knows what they have to do. We should abolish managers and players should work it out for themselves.

Which would basically mean the loudest mouth in the team would manage. In recent years that could have led to Barton calling the shots as he appeared to be the loudest...no thank you. Much rather JFH.

Positive things are slowly happening, promising green shoots and all that. This season was always going to be difficult but I can feel we are heading towards getting our identity back.

It's going to need patience though I reckon, something that tends to be in short supply these days. That said We'll probably go and sign Adebayor and Jimmy Bullard or something ridiculous this week.

Without doubt we can say we are currently no pushovers
Both Hull and Burnley completely stable and have some grit
    Both on course to return
It will be great thing if we can finish stronger each game ... Only then IMO will we be able to mount a challenge
I still say that any team can go on a run now and often is the case that the team that gets that right will win the playoff

That could be us but if it doesn't happen then it's no biggy

To be honest I really quite enjoyed tonight's match and as 0-0's go it was very much one of the better ones I have seen, 31 goal attempts between the two sides isn't bad, and it only remained 0-0 due to the woodwork and some excellent keeping denying both sides. From a Rangers point of view I reckon that JFH will be be as pleased with a performance as he has ever been since his arrival, generally as a team we looked as cohesive as we have done all season. The first half could have ended 3-3, Forest twice being denied by the woodwork and some fpgreat blocks denied strikes at goal, along with a fantastic tip over the bar from a free header by Smithies who looks a far far better keeper than Green. Up the other end Hoilett was denied twice by De Vries, Phillips once, which were all excellent saves and the free kick from Faurlin, from the other end of the pitch we all thought it was going in as we were shielded from De Vries' movement towards the ball by the wall. He managed to tip it onto the underside of the bar.

The second half chances were far less clear cut but if you compared the first half stats with the overall match stats in the BBC website it will tell you that Rangers were the dominant side and so it was the case, Forest became more and more reliant on quick breakaways and for much of the time the real football was being played by us with Faurlin and Luongo dominating the midfield duals and keeping the ball moving. Hoilett again played very well and had JFH substituted Washington for Fer I reckon we could have gone on and won it. Although the chances in the second half were less clear cut we played some great football getting down both flanks and with better final balls we surely would have found the net, Phillips mainly the culprit but he did work hard during the game and his approach play was generally very good.

In defence, once again, Hall looks a fantastic prospect and what I like about him is that he knows when to just clear his lines and when to play the ball out, something that John Stones seems to get confused about. Onouha still worries me and Konchesky carried on from Saturday's display.

Up front with the arrival of Washington, I think that we have found a little gem here. Firstly his pace is startling, one chase for a ball he gave the defender a 30 yard head start and the defender just managed to clear the ball into touch when he should have had much more time. Washington has got great ball control, harries defenders and certainly has a nose for goal. A Jamie Mackie with ability. I really like him on what I have seen so far and his tenacity really helped with the pressing game thatJFH wants to play. And that leaves the BFG and at times he looks like a BFG trying his best and out of his depth and other times he looks like he can score at any moment. But at least he puts the effort in, unlike a certain number ten.

All in all certainly one of our better performances this season and had we got that elusive first win at the City Ground I don't think that the locals could have moaned too much.

Sounds a decent performance all round....
