I thought the beauty of this country is that we aren't entitled to anything unless we earn it. For a city that prides itself on having a hard working nature, we don't half have a lot of arseholes on the dole.
So you think it arrogant of me to say we should not allow folk (for whatever reason) to sleep on our streets? I don't see it that way at all, I think there are alternatives that could satisfy everyone. Some folk prefer to be nomadic, homeless folk and I agree with you that they should be entitled to be just that. But is it so straightforward, or should they be expected to show how they pay their way; some countries have vagrancy laws which I neither condemn or support, as I know too little about them. Here is a starting point, though; It appears to be a law, just like speeding, drink-driving, shoplifting, under-age sex, which are all things some folks like to do, but our laws prohibit it. Is there a difference? I don't want to experience finding a vagrant sleeping in my shed, ****ting in my garden, or in my doorway or the doorway of my business. If you read my post you might of caught that I advocate ensuring immigrants and other homeless are looked after; those who elect to do it by choice (if of sound mind) should make use of dedicated facilities that we should provide, to ensure there is no excuse for public nuisance, as some of us pay for the right not to be abused by vagrants. Arrogant if you wish, I just see it as necessary control to protect everyone fairly. It will not be cheap, but I do not begrudge that if it has logic and control.
If Jo Brand can make make it to Liverpool, these lads should be fine walking back to Warsaw, it's not closing until March, it won't even be that cold.
If they continue to work their zero hour jobs, they could save enough money to get a one-way flight back home by March.
I don't know what it's called, I just heard Burnsy talking about it this morning, if HCC have anything to do with it, it's probably called Homeless R Us.
Why does the old saying 'pan calling kettle black' even exist Chazz? It's ****ing stupid, you never see black kettles nowadays, or pans come to that, unless they're those Teflon things.
Get some shoes donated to this attempt to break a world record and raise the awareness of homeless issues you miserable set of bastards Gavin, and his whole family, are big City fans too. I'll be supporting it http://m.hulldailymail.co.uk/Join-w...25-000-pairs/story-28601355-detail/story.html
All our pots and pans are black. As is our kettle. They weren't when we bought them, but we use the smoke alarm as notice food is ready when the wife's cooking.
