The whole project has turned into a lost cause, as by the end of January, there will have no bugger, worth having, left alive to play it.
****ing hell they are appalling. My great grandfather was an architect in Hull, he served his time under Alfred Gelder. He'd be turning in his grave at these carbuncles!
They are shocking. My guess is it'll peter out and nothing will get built. I've no objection to modern buildings, but that looks like no thought or effort has gone into it.
So,they partially knock it back because of a lack in quality of the proposed build ?'coz the design of the courthouse opposite Guildhall is an outrage , its a courthouse on a junction overlooking Guildhall and the old Post office and its made with them bricks they rebuilt houses Selby Street /St Georges Rd with (Shaky hand fisting hard hand fisting !!) didnt they look at other examples :/
£36m seems a ridiculous amount for this thing, I'm not sure why they don't find an existing building that's already in a good site (and already needs developing) and build it there at a fraction of the cost...
That's a good idea, it would have a look of the Hammersmith Apollo about it. Although these things can often work out just as expensive as knocking somewhere down and building it from scratch.
