I'm largely immune because I am still basking in the pleasure of signing Austin with no one noticing.

 

I thought that was just 3 Austins. If it's a negative number it's known as a Charlie, eg we wasted 7 Charlies on Gaston.

Sadly I am now prepared for the Townsend to Southampton gossip when he falls out of favor there (about March).

Amusing article (unless you are a Newcastle fan)....says Newcastle have paid 12 mill for a bang average player and Xmas has come 11 months early for Spurs. Also has Paddy Powers view on it.

 

Must admit that it's fun to watch Mike Ashley, who let their squad wither away in the name of maximizing profits, throwing cash around in a panic to ward off the collapse of the club's value should they be relegated.

Even then, though, this takes them to about 80m spent (with no significant transfers away) on seven players. Six are attack-minded players, five attacking mids of some variety, they still do not have a competent striker, and their defense is still a mess.

Watch him just tear it up for a few months now. I don't like him at all but he does show form when he has a point to prove. Could be a great signing short-term.

 

I wonder how "match fit" he has kept himself?

Article questioning Chelsea's pursuit of Pato compared with our signing of Austin. Charlie apparently a Chelsea fan as well....I guess no one is perfect. Apparently Hiddink has warned Chelsea about making foolish signings now.

Juanmi said to be wanting a move to Real Sociedad, but Saints said to not want him to make a permanent move. I think Ron sees his potential, but has mentioned that he needs to toughen up. We may not want to let him go until we see how Charlie settles in and the futures of Pelle and JRod are clearer. After all, he was relatively cheap at only 1.4 Charlie Austins.

 

TBH I have seen little from the young man that says he is a real prospect. Instead of working hard in the gym and training he seems to spend his time moaning to the Spanish press that he isn't being given a chance blah, blah, blah.
I would shift him if someone will pay the required amount to cover our outlay on him
