Today's referee is Neil Swarbrick. He's done Oxford twice this season - at Northampton & Wycombe. Utd's only away defeats. Omen? #Pompey

But on the bright side, Plymouth are losing! Now just equalise so we can cut the points gap down a bit

Sadly we lost, but overall, Oxford United were the better team on the day. They did however "out bully us" - our players in the first half received little or no protection from the referee or his assistants.

The penalty save from Fulton was excellent, he looks a very self assured young player. Far more commanding than Brian Murphy.

Well, I think we should start getting used to another year in League 2 as Hampshire teams don't do play offs.

Oh how I wish we could take on the likes of Leeds and Coventry, rather than Morecombe and Dagenham & Redbridge

    What's wrong with Morecambe?

    Ok actually you're right.

It would do the club a power of good to experience the play-offs as it would extend the education of the team and supporters. Nail-biting yes, and if the outcome is a "belly-up" strengthen in the summer and create a squad that can get back-to-back promotions. Look how high Burton are in Division 1, and they have a fraction of Pompey's turnover and potential, but are extremely well organised.

I don't believe we will now achieve automatic promotion, but all being well should make the playoffs.

Squeaky bum time, but hopefully another visit to Wembley.

Having personally witnesses the team I support lose in the play-off final twice, it's not something I want to repeat tbh. Though the extra-time win v Woking was nice.

That's aiming a bit low Lapras. Surely the ultimate aim is playing the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and West Ham again.

That's an interesting point Ides - if I'm honest for week in week out football where everyone has a shout I think I enjoyed our Championship years the most - the Prem brings the bucks but I'm not sure I'm that enamoured with it tbh.

It is the outrageous prices. I have not seen a Premiership game since Pompey v Sunderland in something like 2006.
