One huge deflection one OG and two penalties. Burnley were well flattered by that score line and I think our lads will give them a lot more to think about than Kamikaze Derby.
Sky have described Burnley's second half performance as 'Irresistible'. Am I missing something? Despite scoring 3 (2 penalties) I thought they still looked distinctly average.
I thought their passing was pretty good, the build up to the goals, even though they were all very generous, was slick & accurate. The fourth goal I was thinking why doesn't he just pass it to the guy on the left, then the deflection happened.
So they effectively scored 2 pens an OG and a fourth that could be given as an OG due to the deflection. Agree on the passing, but we should be beating Burnley away, nothing for us to worry about in that team.
If Burnley are beating top six sides when playing not so well, that's a good sign for them isn't it? It's not dissimilar to what City did on Saturday at Fulham.
Derby have shown the classic symptoms of pre-big game syndrome. They're at home to Man U on Friday night in the Cup. Their form has dipped ever since the draw. On the other hand, Burnley have 'upped' their performances since the 4th round draw (they're away at Arsenal) Dyche obviously knows how to keep his players focused.
Is it us being defensive or other teams keeping it tight with 8,9 & 10 behind the ball? A lot of games we have dominated possession, but have been unable to break them down. When Burnley came, they played a very open game & paid the price!
Burnley away will be tough but the rewards for winning would be massive, we could go 8pts clear which would be a good lead going into the last seventeen games how ever a defeat and its back to a 2pt gap.
