The potential costs of funding a Premiership club is phenomenal. Even Bournemouth have had to part sell to the Yanks to share the cost .

Mike might not walk away but as an estranged City fan, he will probably spend less time on forums and internet info.
If we go down, I will not go again because I have seen enough Third Division crap. I just need to decide how and where I spend the ST money.

Matt Busby once said that a club will get 60,000 to watch a great team playing on the council rubbish tip.
But only 15,000 will turn up to watch a poor team in a super stadium.

City once again have done it ass about face.

Been saying that for years, build the team, then build the stadium to go with it.

    chicken and egg situation.

But then if the stadium wasn't ready the club would be accused of shortsightedness. Ashton Vale plans began in 2007 and it's not until 9 years later that we're getting our final new ground. Imagine if we got to the Prem in 2007 and then had to wait 9 years for something befitting the league!

Bournemouth's owner seems to be a bit of a mystery with his known wealth being recorded as a mere £100m compared with Lansdown's £2000m. The only problem with such scenarios is that having bought the club, they simply borrow against that asset to fund expansion and the club pays the interest i.e. much the same as Liverpool and Man U. I would much rather be in our position (financially that is). As regards Pemberton's possible appointment I see Sat's match as important. There is no doubt our performances have improved but we must now start winning games. Timing is everything at the moment. Personally I hope we go for an outsider who will be able to stamp his own philosophy on the club

I love reading the threads on this site and the replies are even tastier sometimes but the key point I get from you all whether you are in the yes or no camp is the frustration at our leaders getting most things consistently wrong. Spend your ST money on a beach party cidered and I'll join you in the late spring for a beer down on the dunes. Who else is coming???

Didn't they also find a loophole where they paid bigger signing on fees and lesser wages to stay within the structure of FFP?
If that's what they did you watch the players run like rats once they struggle and come back down. It's all very well having a lump sum up front but loyalty of seeing out the contract against getting higher wages will no doubt tip the balance.
I think what most struggle to see is that SL is building a club to be financial stable so that if he decides the times up he's selling a club and not the debt. Which given his background in finance makes sense this way he won't be selling a loss.
We are always going to be compared to other clubs, but never against the Blackpools and Boltons of this world.

Back that up with some evidence! I have never seen that as even a wildest estimate of his worth at that amount..

It appears that much of SL wealth depends on the value of his HL's shares and obviously the link I quoted was over a year ago but the last time I checked a £ sign meant pounds not dollars!! I accept your figure is probably the more current. However the point being made was that Bournemouth's owner was super rich. That is not the case. I believe he bought the club for less than a million and has recently sold 25% to an American concern to fund expansion

The point I was making was your 'facts' were wildly out which then gets repeated as fact elsewhere and all of a sudden the man is apparently worth £2billion when it is in fact nowhere near that..

    Taken from the Sunday times..

"Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn claims to have seen evidence of Demin's vast wealth and the Russian's fortune is reported to stand in the billions."

    So it is the case!...

Who cares what he is worth? One source says one another says something else. All I have found relates to his worth in this country. He is, however, clearly not funding the club alone as why else would he flog 25%? Any how returning to the City's situation I note the following with despair. Possibly Pemberton until the end of the season?
"with the club believed to be seeking a progressive head coach with a track record of nurturing young players. Amid all the uncertainty currently swirling around Ashton Gate, one thing is becoming increasingly apparent. With every day that passes without an appointment being announced, Pemberton's chances of landing the role for an extended period are increased".
