I am too invested in it at this point. The last season was the worst, definitely, but I will see through now, and hopefully it will pick up.
I cannot see that working man. The X files was almost defined by its 90's ness. No coincidence that as soon as the 90's ended X-Files became ****.
The Wire is one of the only TV shows it's hard to find fault with and pick holes in. It's close to flawless. Even the Sopranos, as good as it was, has weaknesses there either in the storytelling or characterisation
Those are the classics and foundations of a new genre. I think there are more interesting things to say, culturally, filmically, about those films than any Will Smith film.
I'm trying to think of failings in it but understandably struggling. The newspaper storyline in S5 was maybe a little lacklustre but there was all the other stuff being tied up around it with the police, Marlo and Carcetti that saves it.
I have a rule, if Family Guy takes the piss and EVERYONE I know says I MUST WATCH IT, then its not going to be my thing
Think the first Episode screened in the US yesterday or something. Comes on German TV in February; anyone know for UK?
X-files started last night / yesterday, people been commenting on my social media feeds about it. Not interested personally. Maybe will give it a little look if bored. New series of Black Sails has started, that's a decent bit of inconsequential pirate fluff
Just had a look: Channel 5 are showing it in "early February"; no exact start date yet. Although I'm sure you'll be able to find it online somewhere already.
Will give it a try. If they look at it as a continuation/revisit of the original then it could be terrible. However the trailers have me interested, I hope it's just as dark as the originals but with a different approach to the X-Files.
