I know I'm getting on a bit but I can't remember Hull City winning a league championship since WW 2. I remember them being promoted a few times but never from No 1, perhaps 1949/50 ???. Can some one enlighten me please.
Since you were born Charles we were No1 in 1948/49 , 1965/66 and 1932/33. Hope you are in good health these days as you head for 83!
If I get to 83 I can't imagine I'll be capable of appearing as a hologram on the Hull City forum or whatever is required to do on the Internet by then.
Incredible that you've not won a League for 50 years despite about 6 promotions since the turn of the century.
Not incredible! We are little old Hull. Incredible would have been if we had ended up in The Conference around 15 years ago which was very much on the cards at the time.
There's still a long way to go this season. Of course there will have been more seasons were we have been top of the division for several weeks but didn't end up at the very top by the end.
That's why I simply want to win the league, it's not too much to ask is it? I have seen us win the play offs, finish runners up, runners up in the FA Cup. I have never actually seen us win anything.
Its 6 in 50 years though and no titles, looking forward to taking the 2nd tier title for the first time in our 112 years on St Georges day against the champions of Europe. Where going up as f***ing champions!
This is exactly how I'm thinking. Can add seeing us finishing 2nd in Division 3 (League 2) and League 1 to that. It would be great to see us actually lift a trophy.
Hull City have been promoted from the champtionship to the PL as Wembley PO winners 2008(after a league finish of 3rd-2007/08) and as runners up in the 2012/13 season. Time to do it again as CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS - this season.!!!!!!
It'd be nice to have the staging on the KC pitch with fire cannons and that all going bang !!!.....but promotion any way is still the plan......
Hopefully we can cement Top Spot in our home game against TWS. Perfect game for it. Then watch Steve Evans and his best mate OLM party. !!
I believe it is yeah. Not a trophy worth noting, I'd still like to see us win a league title. It will make all those years sitting at Boothferry Park when you'd pick a row rather than a seat and there were crowds of circa 4,000 all worth while.
IF YOU were not one of the 3000 when FC played KR @ Wembley back in the 10-5 Final then you are a plastic.
