A striker is there to score goals and that's what he did, it doesn't matter how good the opposition is<doh>

The simple fact is that Rooney and Hernandez have a better understanding of each other and compliment each others game. Berbatov was just unlucky in the fact that Fergie saw that. But he still finished PL top goal scorer despite this.

So your argument that Berbatov was dropped because he had 'no pace' holds no grounds.

I agree that Berbatov is unlucky because he has played more in previous seasons despite putting in less shifts.

Yet the simple fact remains that Rooney and Hernandez played better together because their pace complemented each others.

At the start of the season Rooney was terrile yet when Hernandez was brought in then Rooney's form was lot up again.

Also Rooney struggles for England due to the slower players around him most of the time (ie Heskey, Lampard etc at the world cup)

Rooney struggles for England just like every player does, that's because they don't give a ****! Simple as that.

No need for the bad language.

I would agree that laziness has played a big part thus of course reduing the overall pace of the squad meaning that the move are less fluent than they could potentially be

It's got nothing to do with laziness <doh>, just players that don't care about playing for their country

Look at the defeat to Germany.

Young fast talent such as Mueller an Ozil tore England apart with their speed and skill while Upson and co could do nothin due to their lack of speed

Yeah, and that had nothing to do with their superior technical ability and passing vision...

Nobody is arguing that pace isn't important, we're just annoyed that it's all you're talking about. And don't pretend like it isn't your intention, or that you don't realise it's all you're talking about, when your posts are so incredibly transparent.
