.. on form ... (and excluding those that have been out injured) ... for me Hart Butland Heaton Clyne Walker Stones Jones Smalling Shawcross Gibbs Rose Barklay Ali Drinkwater Henderson Lingard Ox Lallana Sterling Vardy Kane Deeney Walcott ... thoughts?
Clyne? Henderson? Lallana? are we running out of options? Delph and Dier instead of Henderson and Lallana all day for a start. Clyne gets in because no other English right back available.
in fairness I was and hands up I'd forgotten about Dier and would certainly include him ...possibly to the exclusion of Jones ....
Not a single Liverpool player would get near the team. Smalling would be the only UTD player. Buy Woy is dim and will take Rooney and 7 Liverpool players
It's "Alli" by the way! What about a shout for Mason? I can't see Vardy getting the nod over Rooney or Walnut. I can see Roy choosing Defoe over Vardy, too, if he wants experience. Kane is a shoehorn into the first XI, of course.
... I think Woy will be under far more pressure to include Vardy than Kane from the 'country' (i.e not just Spurs fans) should Vards continue his form for the rest of the season ... i.e how on earth can Woy (or you) justify leaving out the guy who has in the current season set a new all time record for consecutive goalscoring in the Prem? .. he's not only outscoring Harry, he's out assisting him too ... now don't go getting a dose of Spud blight .. I'm sure Kane will go ... but your logic is completely flawed ... especially about Defoe ... if Woy is that despearte for experience then he'll be leaving Harry too and taking Ricky Lambert .. and Mason over any of those named? ... stop jesting ... or at least post a picture of yourself in the outfit .. and do a jig so that the little bells ring ...
Mason needs a run in the team to be considered, same as Townsend. Not sure how Oxlade-Chamberlain gets a mention, as even the Arsenal fans think he's been poor. A good player, but doesn't look it at the moment. Alli and Dier should be in our starting midfield, Vardy out left, Kane in the middle and Barkley behind Kane. Stones, Walker, Smalling and Baines. With Hart in goal. Leaves 1 place, depending on formation - probably Henderson or Lallana (the latter if we are playing a weaker team).
Oxlade-Chamberlain's been remarkably poor for quite some time now. Strange really, as he had a ton of potential. Might need a move to get back on track. His confidence looks completely shot. Is Stones actually that good? Lots of potential, but Martinez doesn't really do defending. I think he's another one who could go on to do really well, but his form's not been great this season. Dann's been a lot better at Palace and hasn't had as much protection, on paper at least.
Danns a good call .. been in my fantasy footie team all season so my bad for omitting him ... no acceptable excuse
my england XI would be: hart clyne smalling cahill bertrand henderson alli shelvey walcott vardy kane an awful side but who else is there? struggling to think of a lb or a decent midfielder. rb options are shoddy too. a lot of english players have gone downhill.... townsend ****, oxlade ****, milner always been ****, lallana is pointless player altogether, young lol no, stones so overhyped, jones always injured as is wilshire, delph never plays for city, carrick is old and slow, cleverly is tonk and mason shouldn't be near the squad
fabian delph over jordan henderson? hahaha gtfo. we should have ryan mason and andros townsend back in
Baines for left-back, despite being injured for most of the season. Dier has been very impressive in the holding role for us and our midfield's been dominant in most of our games this season. Shelvey's been crap for Swansea. A couple of good performances for the Geordies doesn't make up for that, for me.
he was #1 in the league for key passes few weeks ago and is 1 of few players from midfield that can rifle 1 from 25 yards
... the premise was those in form now - although I accept the Ox is a dubious call in hindsight ... in terms of left bck I would much prefer a fit again Luke Shaw (if that is possible) to Baines ...
Was he number one for one game or something? Played well against West Ham on his debut and that was about it. He should be miles down the pecking order. Contributes virtually nothing defensively and has a very suspect attitude.
