I thought this thread worth bumping. Who ever created it was a genius for believing that this might be a very close season for the two North London giants.
No, they will fail like they always do, but no doubt until the season ends, the Spuds will talk the same talk of oh maybe we will do it this year and power shift bla bla bla, only come end season to fail as usual, with all their big talk vanishing into thin air.
For the last 3 months Arsenal have been ravaged by injuries, with literally most of our key players out injured, in comparison to Spurs they've had their best players available, and not even in a similar or comparable injury situation, and yet still in that period Arsenal have remained above Spurs, and now our best players are slowly starting to get back into the team.
Son has only just recovered from injury, njie is out injured, Dembele was out injured, Bentaleb has only just recovered from injury, Mason is still injured, Rose was out injured, Vertongen is out injured now....all teams could point to similar problems but fans only seem to notice their own and ignore everyone elses.
lol please will you? None of those players you mentioned are huge integral parts of the team, we bloody lost around 5 key players, the spine of our team, all together at once, and yet despite having our core players out, you STILL couldn't manage to go above us, not even for 1 week, let alone 1 day. And while all teams suffer injuries, we have suffered much more than you, at one point we almost had a full team of players missing. At one point, we had zero attacking options on the bench, and had to resort to Gibbs as a winger, who coincidentally, scored against you lot when we played you, lol. Spurs are playing good, think they will get top 4, but as usual I don't think you will finish above us, you might push us, but like history shows, you always lack the quality to end above us, I don't see that changing this year either because I do believe we have a much more significantly stronger team than you, which may not have shown during the past few months because of the injuries, but fact is with a team of Coq-Cazorla-Sanchez-Ozil-Ramsey-Giroud all managing to play together and fit, is a far stronger prospect than Spurs.
Son, Rose, Vertongen and Dembele are all first team starters. Mason and Benteleb were first team starters before their injuries...squads have to cope. I aint commenting on who has the best team or who will finish higher...I was commenting on the injuries. You know nothing about us if you seriously think these players are not first team starters. All clubs have injuries...Utd have had loads, so have city, west ham, Leicester etc. it is not just arsenal
Exactly! The whole purpose of assembling a squad is to cope with injuries, and to give players the opportunity of resting in what is a long and busy season, if you're involved in several different competitions. Secondly, it's not just about the supposed quality of the players in your squad, but the ability to form them into a team. In my view, that's what Pochettinio has done at Spurs, he has us playing as team. Each player knows his job, they all work for each other, and I can understand why he's reluctant to introduce any new player that he feels won't fit in with his existing framework.
Ah, bless! IQ87 is getting his excuses in early for a potential massive AFC fail. I don't blame him. Should Spurs finish above Arsenal, the meltdown on their board will outstrip anything hitherto before witnessed in the entire cosmos! IQ87 will, of course, be leading the "Wenger out!" brigade. If, by some happy chance, Spurs were to win the title, oh sweet Lord! - I don't think I'd ever leave the cock clinic!
...the relative finishing positions of each look likely to be determined by the game between the two at Upstart Lane in March ... personally I'm hoping for a nil-nil draw on the day followed by a hefty points deduction from the Prem on two fronts ...in Spurs case, the first in relation to FFP - due to Levy not so much 'skipping bail' as treating it with contempt - that is spunking the considerable 'Bale fund' by scattering it to the proverbial transfer duds wind .(this case has been overly long in coming to court admittedly).. ...in Arsenal's case ... for exceeding the quota of 'sick note from matron' softies refusing to play because of tweaked bootlaces and the like ... ... finally an additional points deduction for offending the eye of the general public ... by fielding such ugly footballers as Harry Kane and Meerkat Oizil ... harsh ... but fair
Yes that's exactly what I am saying, you have no chance of lifting the title this season. Mathematically you do, but seriously you really don't, I'm sure you agree haig. What with you being the man who prides himself on cooling delusional thoughts.
Even if Spurs finished above Arsenal you would just get a bunch of muppets saying "Dey celebwatin like dey won da leeg!" with cockish smirks on their faces. I would love for Spurs to win the league, just to see the meltdown on the Arsenal board
