<laugh> ... your post demonstrates my point ... Vardy went 7 games without a goal ... but scored in the previous 11 <laugh> ... the first game he didn't score in after that run was Swansea away - we won 3-0 and Vardy assisted / had a key contribution in all 3 goals - 2 of those 7 games were FA Cup games that he either didn't play in or came on as a late sub - he won penalties that Mahrez missed against Bournemouth and Villa in another 2 of those games in the 7 ... also against Villa the keeper clawed backed Vardy's lob which was going in only for Okazaki to put that claw back in the net ... the only game Vardy has been under par in was at liverpool where he put in a shift despite playing with a raging fever ... all this without the string of galacticos creating chances for him like Aguerro has ...

... I'd say he has pretty much delivered in every game this season ... and demonstrably more than Aguerro has ... but very easy for some not to look any further than the 'big teams' ... as I think has just been proven beyond any reasonable doubt ...

... I'd agree ... but the subject is who has been the best player in the league this season ... for me we have 3 possibly 4 in contention Vardy, Mahrez, Kante and Drinkwater ... if it was any other team 3 points clear at the top nobody would be questioning such a claim ...

I'd also put Delle Ali in as a contender plus Payet at West Ham (certainly more so if he hadn't been injured) and Firmino making a late charge at Liverpool

Honourable mention for Willian who still looks a class act amongst a team of cart horses <laugh>

United have had two excellent performers in e Gea and Smalling ... but neither would deserve player of the season IMHO ...

Aguerro is the best striker in the league for me ... but he hs not been the best player in the Prem THIS season ...

I'd be interested to see the number of games played respectively. Aguero is 4 goals behind Vardy, but I bet Vardy has played more games.

Re the rest, I think it's still way too early to be labeling any player, player of the season. Yes, there's several contenders, but still a long way to go yet.

.. fair enough ... but another thing about Vardy that I love is that you would need to shoot him to stop him wanting to play ... broken bones don't ... his desire is incredible and he's not scared of getting hurt ... as Diego Costa found out at ours ... marked contrast to one Daniel Sturridge methinks... and not forgetting "Ooh that fall hurt, I'm going off" Hazard ...

... I have to admit I did think one of the replays of the incident was slow motion, only realising it was real time when the actual slo-mo was then shown <whistle>

He's been a revelation, I agree. He suits your style of play and with his confidence currently high, he hits the target more often than not. Like Kane though, it will be interesting to see how he does next season when opposition defenses are far more aware of his threat. If he can do it again next year....

After West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet won the Premier League player of the year award at the London Football Awards on Thursday, the Hammers could not resist a cheeky dig at Arsenal. The Upton Park club tweeted: "So it's official, @dimpayet17 is better than @MesutOzil1088."

He's a terrific player! A great find! Whether W.Ham can hang on to him is another matter.

Ozil has the perfect stage in the Barca v Arsenal match to prove that he is indeed Europe's number 1 midfielder. He had a chance at Old Trafford as well but spent most of it in Herrera's shadow. Which Swansea midfielder dominated him the other night...?

Well all I can say is, if we had paid £42m for him, and he had put in the performances for us that he has for Arsenal, I wouldn't regard him as a worthy buy...at all.

He has had a few moments, but nothing great.
Fabregas cost us less, and he owned Ozil last season performance wise.
This season he has sucked, but so did the rest of our team until recently.

Cesc has been Fab since Xmas, as we have been playing the Champs again domestically and are probably the best side in the country again

He signed a new contract last month, and I'm be reasonably sure that it was so release clause could be put in there that's around the Bale to RM mark.
he's on CL money, has great rapport with the fans and has said the reason he came to west Ham was down to Joey cole.
we've got a great squad, one of the best that I can rememeber us ever having, possibly better than the 1999/2000 squad which was on the cusp of greatness. hopefully we'll see what it's capable of during the run-in, though now we're getting our front-line back we're losing our defenders, I don't think we've had more than 8 or 9 of our first XI on the pitch together in 3 years, and even then 1 or 2 are out of position.
