When I say new I mean, a new one for me... wouldn't buy a brand new car. One looking at here is BMW 1 series.
Has anyone else noticed cars are holding value better these days? Last time I bought a new car I was looking at first for something lightly used (under 50k miles). I was surprised: The prices were less than 10% different for a new car and a used car under that milage at the time. Went for new in the end even though I started off looking for used. Paid less for the new car than some of the used of same model I saw on sale.
There are some great deals on new cars at the moment, and don't forget the low deposit option to buy monthly deals. New car and you keep 90% of your savings in the bank. Interest rate works out at about 1% and no worries about buying a dud or big maintenance bills in 12 months time
Depends. I was surprised by the amount of hyundais over there... cheap assed is what I was told when I asked. We pay a lot of tax here but I dunno what they do over there.... Therefore depreciation =tax right off the top year one. I bought a new car and honestly unless you really want a customised effort it's just not worth it. In general a careful buyer can get a 3 year old top car pretty easy.
5 years ago that was the case here too. I was surprised how expensive a car with under 50k miles still was. There's also a difference between buying price and selling price. Sell a 3 year old car and you may only get 60% of your money back... That's not going to stop a dealer going ahead and selling it for 90% of original price.
Big difference between private and a garage. A garage here will still try to charge top whack for a three year old car.
Cars! I'm married to a petrol head just got himself a Triumph Stag. Liverpool and back all the knobs on the M5 M6 drive BMWs, Audis and Mercs. Think they own the road.
I'd agree with you in that case (assuming normal milage usage) of you can get a 3 yo car in good condition for 40% less than new it makes sense.
What's the bhp and torque like on that ?? Could be a nice little run around. I'd go with the M-sport version if you can find a decent deal on one, will give you better performance and importantly more fun. nothing better than putting a beemer in sport mode and spaffing some knobhead off the line at the lights Have you had a beemer before and what car are you coming from ??
Nah. No way. All the ignorant eejits who pay no attention and / or make dick moves are the ones who can't fecking drive. Middle and outside lane sitters doing barely 60, knobheads who go over chevrons late at junctions, twats who pull half way out into the road from side-roads and block lanes or pull out inappropriately making you slam on the brakes ... need i go on
