You can add Aston Martin DB9 to that list, mine is back at the dealers every month, it's had 5 safety recalls in 15 months. Utter disappointment

Whilst at college in the early seventies, I was given a ride from Chesterfield to Darlington in a three wheeler Reliant van. It was a particularly blustery day and that thing bounced all over the bloody road. I thought we'd end up getting crushed under a big truck and it was one of the scariest motoring experiences of my life. Subsequent offers of rides home by the van's owner were always politely declined as I figured hitch-hiking was a safer option!

Whereas my Viva was a ****in' brilliant car, started first time everytime - small engine sitting in an engine compartment that was 3x bigger than it needed to be, what a joy they were too work on. You had to keep on top of the bodywork though.

stromberg carb... damn i hated them things especially with the rubber diaphragm in them, always bloody splitting, just read about the reliant, mate of mine had one and we thought it would be a good idea to pile in the back for a trip to Hornsea late at night. **** me with the weight in the back pretty much every time we went round a corner the bloody thing tipped over, lost count at the amount of times we had to put it back upright, oh those halcyon days

Due to having a bike licence before a car one I bought a Bond Bug 3 wheeler, I loved it, the roof hinged via a large pin, in the summer I used to knock the pin through and lift the whole roof off ............ along with umpteen motorbikes I've owned in the past I wish I still had it.

I had a green Allegro GT, it seized a week after I bought it and as it only cost me £80 and I hadn't registered it, I just abandoned it in Willerby Square car park.

A few days later I mentioned it to a bloke at work that it had broken down and I couldn't be arsed to get it fixed and he offered me £100 for it. <laugh>

My first car was a Triumph Vitesse convertible, I loved that car even though it was a rust bucket.

My worst car was an imported RX7 that was running at something stupid like 400bhp, it was fantastic to drive but unfortunately every time I took the ****er out something broke, it cost me a fortune in replacement parts, eventually I sold it to some poor unsuspecting Manc, I often wonder if it made it the whole way down the M62.

Rex's are awesome cars, not for amateurs. The rotary engines take a lot of TLC, everything needs keeping on top of (specially the ignition system) and they can't be used incorrectly whatsoever - no short trips to the shop.

Especially the Rover 200 series. I must say though that in 1986 I had a brand new Montego 2.0 Turbo, it was allegedly the fastest four door production car on the road at the time, it had ****ing wicked torque steer, if you set off quick from the lights you had to grip the steering wheel firmly otherwise the ****ing thing would be mounting the pavement in an attempt to kill unsuspecting pedestrians.

My first car was a 1.4 8v Corsa. I made it an exhaust out of scaffolding and drilled big holes in the air box, it sounded like a rally car and shot big flames out of its arse.

    It lasted about two months.
