What's the consensus on here? For what it's worth, I think we're nailed on certainties. It's January 24th, we have a nearly fully fit squad and we're top. When looking at our remaining fixtures, one thing caught my eye. The run in, our last three games are... Hull City AFC v TWS Bolton v Hull City AFC Hull City AFC v Rotherham. Yes, I know we somehow managed to lose to two of those, but come on, we all know we have a far better squad than they do. Imo, all we need to cast all doubt aside, is another good striker. (It's an investment Dr Allam). So are we going up?
It would be a catastrophe if we didn't. Our expenditure is miles above anyone else's. As is the individual quality in the squad.
I think we will but you cannot say anything for certain as there are uncertainties such as injuries and suspensions that can dramatically alter things both for or against us and also the January window is not yet over.
If we don't go up with the squad we've got it'll feel as bad as relegation for me! It's amazing where we are & the fact we've only played to our potential a couple of times.
Should make it over the line. All been well we go up with a 60 million quid squad before we dip into the new higher sky tv cash. Anyone know what the yearly hand out is from next year???
Simple fact is we should not have been relegated in the first place. We've kept the vast majority of a more-than-capable Premier League squad so yes we should be nailed-on certainties. I would love to see us go up as Champions - it would add an extra special element we've not seen from our previous two promotions from this division.
Id like to think we will, all the signs suggest as much. But based on what we've seen this season we could just as easily lose 7 in a row and drop out of the promotion places altogether.
Given where we are at present, and given the differing nature of our performances, we could go up as Champions but just as easy slip into the play offs and be dealt disappointment. Of late despite not hitting the heights away from home, we have found a way to collect points, which points in a positive direction. Of the teams we have played I would only say that Derby did a job on us, the other defeats have been down to our inconsistency, and failure to turn up. if we don`t go up I suspect we will only have ourselves to blame, so for me.. yes we will be promoted (fingers crossed)
