Torro Rosso are the b team of current WDC & WCC champions, true, however when Vettel joined Torro Rosso, Redbull, the senior team, had amassed a grand total of 1 podium, a 3rd a year before. Vettel was the first driver to win for either Red-bull team. So yes he did start with a small team because he started with a middle of the grid teams junior team.
I really think he should have taken that renault drive last year. He must be kicking himself for not doing it.
I rate Timo Glock highly. He was a consistent podium challenger in the Toyota, so he deserves a far better car than what he has been given.
