Did you watch the film in cinema? Or at home? I feel like it was one of those films that had to be watched in the cinema to be appreciated fully. A lot like the Revenant which won't translate very well to DVD, either.
My eldest daughter had a reunion of her University mates, all female, were they all got pissed watching Labyrinth. Each sticker apparently is a Bowie crotch shot. What they thought of the film I don't know. please log in to view this image
Watched the revenant yesterday, thought was bit boring. Only decent but was when he got attacked by the bear!
I found it rather slow in places too. But I'm guessing that was deliberate so that DiCaprio could have time to show off his acting skills. The way they filmed the actual scenery was epic though, so was the background music (or whatever posh people call it. Score?).
Yeah, agreed thought was nice to look at but in terms of actual content was a bit meh. Pretty much summed up by "men in woods, man attacked by bear, men left, man attacked survives & seeks revenge"
WTF is going on with this thread. A mindless bit of pulp like The Force Awakens is raved about and films with any depth or merit are not appreciated. Philistines
I agree, let's have more films about the Philistines, could start with David & Goliath - DiCaprio as David and a really big star for the role of Goliath
Sadly it will fail without a Millenium Falcon. Can we have a really big death star instead? Dicaprio can fight one of the ewoks in a scene where they break his back in 3 places and he has to try and find Luke Skywalker for no fcking apparent reason!
I suspect Luke probably borrowed his original vinyl copy of Dark Side Of The Moon and Luke wants it back. Star Wars always have such complicated story lines "I am your father, Luke" "Never mind that, have you seen my Floyd album, you also sound a bit nasal, Dad"
Not saying I didn't enjoy or appreciate it. I'm just saying there were a few bits that I felt were a little too slow for no apparent reason.
You think full stops belong in the middle of a sentence so your opinion doesn't count. Isn't obvious Revenant and Mad Max are the same film, but one is set in the future and the other 300 years ago. Hence why Tom Hardy is in both films. It's the classic tale of boy meets girl, girl steals ho's and drives across desert, boy saves girl, boy has red indian baby, girl turns into bear and almost kills boy, weird fella has throat ripped out with chain. How many times have we heard that story
I enjoyed it up until the end which felt rushed, some very interesting characters in it though. Bit 50/50 on hateful 8.
I think it's a tale of endurance and man beating the elements. I knew beforehand it was based (however loosely) on a true story so was expecting the plot to be fairly simple and slow-paced at times. Someone said to me it wasn't so much a film, but more of a spectacle and that's stuck in my head. I think that's pretty much spot on.
Anyone see the new suicide squad trailer? Can't wait for this and batman vs superman, they both seem very "dark" in comparison to the marvel universe films. Hopefully that's a trend they keep witg
