Looking at the replays the other defenders were too far away to cover and he was one on one with Hart.

 

Must say a word for Leicester....keep thinking they will fall away, but no sign. A team that wins because they are a team and not an accumulation of pricey stars....go, Leicester.

 

And a manager people didn't want here when Adkins was sacked. Always liked Ranieri. very modest and tactically astute manager.

 

Like most who saw him, I liked what I saw from Alli at MK Dons. But ye gods I had no idea that he was going to be this player...if the England national team achieve anything in the next decade, it'll be because Alli is running the show.

If you're not an Arsenal/City fan and you're not cheering for Leicester to win it all, you're definitively a bad person.

 

WTF, I think you can come up with a slightly more appropriate player than Gascoigne.!

 

Er, I think he was referring to a specific Gascoogne goal that was similar to that one.

I'll also add that for all his issues, Gascoigne was a seriously talented and good footballer. To compre a piece of top skill to him is totally appropriate, regardless of the fact this one was like his against Scotland.

You shouldn't let off field issues cloud the facts of how good a player was on the field.

I wasn't, and I know Gascoinge played for Spurs and was a great player. But he scored half a dozen great goals in his career, so I would have thought Le Tissier-esque would be more appropriate. Especially as he did that sort of thing for fun, and the clincher - he was a Southampton player. Saints fan making the original observation.?

 

But Gascoigne's goal was more similar to Alli's than Le Tiss's against Newcastle - that's why I compared it to him rather than Le Tiss.

Oh TSS was there only one "appropriate" answer? Of course not. Perfectly acceptable to compare Gazza and even more so as the goal was very similar in the finish to one of Gazza's most famous ones.

As a Saints fan I reserve the right to be entirely biased towards MLT. Mind you, he hardly needs my praise. A genius, in my opinion. Gascoigne was plodder by comparison.
