Relaid... You say? Your pitch has been embarrassing ****e for the last few weeks, and Watford used it to full effect like some championship sides do. It was still in terrible nick, whether you threw a couple of dead weeds from your nan's back yard on it, or not.
What a gracious reply - typical of your lot. Better an embarassing ****e pitch than players eh? PYGMIES 3 Giants 0
He's got a wobble on even though his team won... Bloody southerners For what it's worth, Watford outplayed us at St James' and deserved the win. Steve McLaren being a bit slow, it took him time to figure out the best tactic for us. This time, I think the pitch was a large part of the result (and our tactics which didn't suit conditions). we tried to play triangles and weren't direct enough, with the ball bobbling all over. If you cannot figure out that playing 50% of your matches on one surface should give you an advantage on it, especially when it is vastly different from the usual calibre of ground, then words are too good for you. You are free to disagree or not on my opinion without beeling like an infant
Meh... He was sitting too deep to be effective, and playing with Mitrovic upfront, who happens to be the most intellectually redundant person north of Watford, whenever he was close enough to be involved in link up, it was never going to end well. With wing backs and no actual wingers, we didn't even see a Hollywood pass Packing the midfield, on that pitch, was a waste of time, as Watford showed. We were better when the system changed, but Shelvey was still quiet.
played like the shelvey i know ..alright sometimes .. then wasteful , he was unable to create anything against a side that would not give him the time west ham did last week ...
Let's not overlook Wijnaldum's non-contribution today. Sure, Mitrovic embarrassed himself and anyone who bothered to support him (<cough>), but we basically played with 9 for most of the match. You then look at the bench and by Christ what do you do? Steve was undone by replicating pretty tactics on a dogsh*t pitch, and the fact he still has a number of average players in his team - with zero game changers anywhere. Not the managers fault (at least not entirely), and yet again my finger points towards Charnley & Carr, who with all the money they were given chose to spend £26m on Thauvin and Mitrovic, when the same amount would have more or less bought Sam Byram, Jetro Willems, Benik Afobe and Andre Gray.
Come on guys, you have been beaten narrowly three times by little old Watford who have only just joined the PL. It is easy to blame the officials, the pitch or the manager after the game today, but you are not in your current plight just because of your encounters with us. You are starting to crumble again within, failing to get the right people to recruit, run the club, or play for it. Maybe you should look at who owns the club and sets the policies. Just what would it mean if both clubs from the North East were relegated? Probably be the fault of the government.
I suggest that, if both NE clubs are relegated as looks increasingly likely, the fans should organise a march preferably from Jarrow (half way between the cities) down to London to protest to the government. They could pop into Watford as they pass like their predecessors did all those years ago. ....and it would probably have the same result!
If you cannot figure out that we have not played on that pitch before - like Newcastle - words fail me! I am not beeling or wobbling either! I reckon you're polatic though - too much Newcastle Exhibition, bloody northerners.......etc. etc.
Watford no history or identity..... Boring hole of a place with a wacky crazy family fun football club.... Jesus Christ eh.
Oh ****, the boys have turned up It smells a bit like Manitowoc in here now Enjoy your win, you and your school yard playing surface will be hosting us again in the championship soon enough!
A bit early to have accepted relegation I would have thought, but then you see more of them than I do, so maybe you are right.
I see the old Colo back today. Caught out for pace and aerial ability firstly for Ighalo's goal then we had 3 players marking Cathcart who outjumped the lot of them. How many more times are we going to get caught half asleep from K.Off. You would have thought McClaren would have told them to keep it very tight for first 10 mins or so when we started the 2nd half but no Colo half asleep trying to catch Ighalo offside who left him for dead. As for our forwards Aarons, Wijnaldum, total no show, Riviere & Mitrovic couldn't head a ball straight to save their lives and Mitrovic really has had an abundance of chances which someone like Charlie Austin would have buried.( scored with virtually his 1st touch against Manure. ) We really are fighting for our lives now and only a week to get the transfers in. WE DONT NEED wingers, midfielders but we DESPERATELY need a striker.
