Not a jumps guy but have heard the criticism of Sam Twiston Davies lately and must say how he lost on La Prizien is hard to work out. The horse travelled upsides but STD got out finished by the other jock. He didn't know whether he wanted to drive with his legs and push the horse out fully or drive with the whip, he changed his mind twice and then dropped the reigns briefly, through all this his weight was changing on the horse constantly. He needed use the whip and if the response was enough keep driving with that, if not get into the drive position and push out for everything. The horse had it in him I think but didn't get the encouragement needed from the saddle. He is not a terrible jockey and worth his place in the weighing room but not on top of Paul Nicholls best horses. I bet that horse traded low in running to the last hurdle.
You may have heard some fellow forumites describe him riding akin to a rag doll and I think that's a fair assessment. His legs are always flailing about and giving no drive into the horses side at all. Look at him in any finish and he's like this. Brilliant effort from Its'afreebee though.
Baron Alco ran a belter Reebs! How many times have I been on Rock The Kasbah! THEOS CHARM put up a fair performance for a novice and I will not be giving up on him after that. I think he wants a more testing course and he would be interesting if he turned up for something like the Coral Cup in softish ground!
poor Norwich, scored 4 goals at home and still lost, that;s cruel. To convinced by the New One but a win is a win
Vroom Vroom Mag very impressive but that little pony Cannon Fodder in 3rd deserves a mention too. What a heart that little lass has. Looks like she was being ridden by Giant Haystacks!
Even as a fan I'd have to agree. Still dives out right and was all out to beat a handicapper who tried to pull himself up at half way. In fact as a champion hurdle trial the hurdling on display was bloody awful.
