Possibly the first time I have ever felt really disappointed to see Davis' name missing from our side. He has been so, so good in our last two games. Yes Tadic is more likely to score a goal or play a killer pass, but I as an allround package, I can't see him having the same impact/influence as Davis (assuming we'll be playing the same system as our last two games, but just with Tadic playing in Davis' role).
Wasn't seen in the latest training video no, but that doesn't mean much. Assume he is injured or ill. Big shame as he has been fantastic in recent weeks.
Looks like it... so we have reverted to what we played before; ditching the 5-3-2. Do we know why Davies is not in the squad as we lose the advantage of Tadic as an impact sub?
BTW Le Tiss has just said on Sky that he has been given to understand that we may have paid less than 4 mill for Austin!!
I agree, I would probably have started JWP and used tadic as impact sub again. Seemed to work a charm last week! In Ron we trust
Time for Clasie to step up and play a more assertive role - that's not meant as a criticism but a comment for him to take this opportunity before I get rounded on!
Slightly unfortunate on Romeu. He and Clasie were excellent against Watford, and for me I saw JWP and Vic coming in for both of them against WBA simply for fitness reasons. Ron keeping it fresh in the middle of the park. But today you could have easily made a case for Ron going back to Romeu and Clasie. That said, Vic was excellent himself in the second half against WBA, and is probably best equipped to deal with Fellaini's strength and allround thuggery.
01 de Gea 36 Darmian 12 Smalling 17 Blind 43 Borthwick-Jackson 28 Schneiderlin 27 Fellaini 35 Lingard 21 Herrera 09 Martial 10 Rooney We can attack that defence!
I guess Davis in injured if he couldn't at least get to the bench. It's five at the back, Wanyama and Clasie in central midfield. Only doubt is how will the forward three line up; Tadić behind Long nad Mane, or Tadić and Mane on either side of Long.
