"The identities of the two developers tasked with creating retail and visitor-led destinations either side of Oystermouth Road will be unveiled, along with details of the proposals.

Plans are also believed to include a large entertainment venue, a 5-star hotel, a city beach, aquarium and cafe quarter"

Why does this not fill me with confidence. The centre won't be touched and the whole bay will be sold off and become a right eyesore - kerching!

When I first saw the headlines I thought it was for the City centre.

    Silly me.

More artists impressions to file away in the "I wish" drawer. With the Tata steel announcement , the proposed tidal barrage looking less likely and the pushing of more money towards Cardiff and it's surroundings we'll be lucky to see another Tesco express opening .

I'm all for redevelopment but I agree with Daimun - it's the City Centre that needs a revamp. Full of ugly 50's buildings that were thrown up after WW2. As Matt says, money seems to be funnelling towards Cardiff all the time. Well done Welsh Government <applause>

Don't forget - elections in May. You know what to do!

Certainly do ,and it won't be a vote for the current incumbants . They've bled the rest of Wales for too long now and if ever there was a time for change then this is it .

Possibly, this time with Sir Terry Matthews in the picture, something will finally happen?

The work on the next phase of the University Campus in SA1 looks like it's starting which will remove a lot of the present derelict sites currently there .I do hope these proposals come to fruition ,too many times we've been let down by the very people charged with doing whats best for the City and surrounding areas .

Believe it when i see it ! after the bad news this week of the steel works job losses and camoron knocking the tidal lagoon, a bit of smoke n mirrors about our city getting a big wedge spent on it ( again ) is standard for gov. If they do it then it will have to be full hog not just a few bits here n there, Reroute mumbles road traffic up to top of town - Kingsway and rebuild from there down to the beach and from the Tawe to the old vetch ! but only cdiff get that type of spending innit !

Blame the Welsh Government. Although Cameron has doubts about the lagoon this seems to be based on the fact that the company proposing it hasn't given reassurances on the electricity produced. It may still happen but the costs need to come down. On the other hand it's Cardiff Bay that's funnelling funds into Cardiff and the surrounding areas. It's nothing short of a disgrace.

it's not a bay , no matter how they dress it up it's just a flooded mud flat which diverted much need funding from the rest of Wales
