Tabanou criticises the Swans on his lack of playing time and our tactical ability.

Franck Tabanou has hit out at Swansea after leaving the club to return to St Etienne on loan.

Lille announced on Thursday that the 26-year-old full-back will rejoin them until the end of the season, just months after he signed for Swansea on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The former France under-21 international has made only three appearances -- all in cup competitions -- for the Premier League side and told French newspaper L'Equipe of his frustrations as he headed home.
"I left for Swansea to move up a level, test out the Premier League, and why not go higher after that? Unfortunately it didn't go like I wanted it to," he said. "They never gave me my chance.

"I don't understand. And I think that, if I stayed, my situation would not have developed. The club is not in a great position and despite that they never played me.

"Initially, they said it was it was down to the way they defended. Me, I play more with my head in terms of positioning and all that.

"With them it's attack, even if it means plenty of space. Tactically, they're not the best. You have your player, it's going to be your fight until the last minute. It's not my way of playing."

Shame he doesn't mention the fact that he was unfit and showed nothing on the training pitch (so I've heard)

He looked very poor and not even championship level, from what I saw of him, but he is right we never gave him a chance to develop some form.......<ok>

I know Taylor has his critics on here and although those criticisms seem polar opposite to the clubs and pundits appraisal of him, it would seem either Taylor is too good for Tabanou or Tabanou is very ****!! ;)

I won't say whether Tabanou was a good player or a bad player , how could I or anyone else for that matter.
I will say this ,I can't blame him for being angry about his treatment.
As for whether he was fit or not , I'll say this , many a manager has used this as an excuse for lack of playing time with the truth being hidden behind the scenes .
The big story for me in this is a continuing situation of wastefulness , from 3.5 million for him , 5 million for Eder who must feel equally about "Why did they buy me then " , 3 million to buy out Monks contract , a contract that should have never been given . 3 to 5 million to buy out Laudrup's contract . A possibility of a sanction in 2 weeks for the Vorm fiasco .
We can all have our say whether Tabanou and Eder are good enough to play or not play , but we all have to face the truth of why they were bought in the first place and who was responable for the decisions .
When it comes to finances the past few seasons , it easy for most to see we've lost our "Swansea Way .

I can say for certainty that he has a very good agent and PR man, Monk didn't play him due to his inability to get fit to a basic standard , he then plays a couple of cup games without showing any reason why we spent 3.5 million on him snd he then has to replaced after playing 60 minutes against League 2 opposition , not an auspicious start to his career with us at all , hopefully we can get most of our money back because I don't think he has the mental strength to play in the PL .

At the start, I have to say, I arrived “a la francaise” . At training, I was not cutting it. I am not a guy who is going to put maximum intensity during sessions. Maybe physically, I was under what was required. But now, that is not at all the case. In the tests, I am one of the best. In no case, even if there is a lot of intensity, am I at all inferior.'

This is what he said back in October. Says it all for me. It took him 3 months to get anywhere near up to standard, by his own admission he was unfit and not performing on the training pitch. How can he then expect to walk into the team. Especially if the coaches and manager don't think Taylor has done anything worthy of being dropped. It appears that he just didnt have the right attitude for the Premier League and British football.

Whatever the facts may be it's been a sorry affair. I was looking forward to, and expecting, an exciting addition to the team, never mind the squad but it hasn't happened. Oh well, we make the best of it and move on.

This has been and still is a steep learning curve for the board this season, or so it appears. Let's hope they learn and improve going forward. Some crucial months ahead.

Tabanou came with a big reputation but the sun shines out of Taylor's arse at the Club. Tabanou was definitely not given a fair crack of the whip but this probably wasn't helped by his attitude.

Big reputation/potential but it seems he has little fight and graft in him. He says he isn't a fighter, so I'm glad he's gone.
Poor or not, give me Taylor everyday after reading this twerps comments. At least he'll give his absolute all, nobody can question his commitment.

I hate to say this but he just isn't good enough unfortunately. I'd be inclined to give Kingsley a run out personally if no one else comes in.

Your point on fighting spirit is correct. We need battlers not prima donnas.

Too bloody right. Everything you have said is right. That's £14.5 million wasted (adding up I think your figures, excuse me it's late and I am into my second bottle). It wasn't so long ago we would't fork out for a striker for £1 million. I have mentioned this the other night. I hope in the background there is some form of accountability for bad decisions made.

We basically got Michu and Chico for the price of a guy who never played a League game and then is sent out on loan in Tabanou .
I don't care about Tabanou , Michu and Chico any more ,but do appreciate them coming to the club , only where we were and where we have come in the transfer market .
Look at how much Rodgers spent and gave us a great first season in the "Big League " .Who we've become in the finance part of the game is frightening .

I know. It's insane. When we got Danny Graham for I think £3.5 million , I thought, F&^%$£g hell. We are spending BIG. He did a good job for is first year, granted, but look where we have come. Same money and nothing.

Very sensible comments on this issue from Alan Curtis.

“He was disappointed that he hasn’t played. You can point to the performances of Neil Taylor, but Franck had the opportunity to play at Oxford and didn’t exactly grab it with both hands,” said Curtis.

“I don’t think we need to say anything about his performances. I think for anyone who looks at them, they speak for themselves. He has a few years left here, he has to come back.

“Any time there is a new manager there is a new start, any new manager would not have worked with him so it would be a fresh start. But some of his comments are a bit strong and sometimes players needs to look at themselves as well.”

From what I've see of him I can only assume we we're paying him in pork pies. There's no excuse for his performance against oxford. Good riddance to fat rubbish.
