If Koren & Cairney can perform against npc sides like thay did vs 'pool then we won't care about Danns and Greening.. McKenna will get picked at def mid. as we've signed him recently, there aren't many players get signed and not used straight off. Cairney has made a strong case for his inclusion though.

    Gulacsi

    Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon

    Koren McKenna Evans Brady

    Fryatt Adebola

subs (5?) Basso, McShane, Cairney, Barmby, Simpson

Got a feeling NP will go with this vs Blackpool but we still have 2 more games to go pre-season..

Why do people keep including Adebola, from what I've seen so far, he's challenging Harper and Kilbane as our worst player? (McShane would normally be on that list, but he gets a let off for yesterdays performance)

Agree about that, simpson is a poacher and always has been, he has never been known for technical ability even in his days at arsenil

OK Fryatt picks himself, then who do you partner him with? Simpson is similar but doesn't have the same touch, Mclean and Fryatt does work well but Mclean misses too many sitters so I'm thinking Adebola will get baggsy as a battering ram, Matty can pick up the pieces..

id pick mclean, hes the best other striker weve got on the ball, if we play adebola then i fear we'll just result to hoofing it, hes not amazing on the ball, he can shield the ball brilliantly and hes good in the air. with how weve played pre-season, nice passing football, dont know why people are calling for adebola to start. .

i think everytime last season that cross, would have been headed clear...but the benefits of having a lump in there paid off..and it was knocked down for simpson...
i wouldnt start him tho, i know nobody is fuly fit in pres season, but he almost couldnt run, and made kevin francis look agile <laugh>...think he could have a part to play this season tho, but id start with the movement of simpson and fryatt, and see how that goes..

so how many players would you have on the pitch? Or are advocating fly goalie?

I don't think it's even in question, Fryatt and Simpson will be our starting pairing this season and based on yesterdays performance, that's fine by me.

Mclean was better better yesterday, but he doesn't have the quality of Simpson and from what I've seen so far in the pre-seasons, Adebola is ****e and should only be used if we have a one goal lead and we need to defend it for the last fifteen minutes.

Fryatt and Simpson have to start as our front two. They should have been our front two half of last season, Mclean didn't deserve to start all of those games whilst Simpson sat on the bench. Simpson started to get into some form and NP dropped him simply because we bought Mclean.

I think we should use a fly goalie, put Mcshane in goal with allowances to regularly roam out of the box and with his good outfield skills and pace to scramble back to the goal, we'd dominate the teams we play

I want Koren in the centre. Give him a decent defensive partner and he'll run the game.

Except for the evidence based on every time we've tried that and he's sat and sulked for 90 minutes hardly touching the ball because he got tackled too hard in the first minute. Leave him out wide.

I agree with this 568846582698742361526847287641.4% He's more effective out wide so may as well leave him out there.

If Blackpool's defense is as leaky as last year I'd go for Cairney to start and really go for a crushing win to get the adrenalin flowing through the team. We don't need to be defensive and boring ,just knock in more goals than the opposition and get the mind frame right for a good start to the season .Cairney on form could be devastating against a weak defense.
