I really can't see the likes of David Moyes or Nigel Pearson being told who to play or not having a final say in transfers etc, especially at this level...
Never going to happen and frankly, BCFC need to drop this approach if we are going to employ anyone decent. The reason it was introduced in the first place was following the events in the GJ era leading to the infamous "black magic" statement. However, (ignoring the rule about never start a sentence with however), HOWEVER, if we do manage to employ someone of the calibre of Pearson or Moyes, then we have to accept their (proven) judgement as to who is a good player otherwise we end up cutting off our nose to spite our face...
By the sound of it I'd say it was already too late Prem. Since his appointment, Mark Ashton appears to have been given lots of power and I'm more than a little uncomfortable with it. Had he come from another Championship team or better then fair enough, but Oxford United, really ?
I don't think the board know who to appoint next, if it would of been moyes or Pearson they would of moved a lot quicker in getting them before someone else, we beat Middlesbrough did ok against Albion and if we beat Leeds then I think their going to give it to Pemberton till the end of the season then if were still in championship the club becomes more appealing to better managers than at present, if we're in league 1 then we will be looking at different manager to get us back up.
To be frank,i have seen us moving away from a football club as we all know our club,we are under Bristol Sport umbrella where their seems to be more of a commercial enterprise being run by non football people, just maybe this is one of the reasons players are not coming. The concept seems to be about more than a football club. Some say it is the way forward,i'm not so sure it is in the best interests of the football club
If what I heard today from a VERY good source is correct.. LET'S JUST SAY I THINK WE ARE GOING TO BE UN-HAPPY FANS!!
'LET'S JUST SAY I THINK WE ARE GOING TO BE UN-HAPPY FANS!!' banksy, just tell me it's not Stuart Pearce.
This appointment is going to clearly show us, and the football world where Bristol City FC is going. They need to decide which man they want and get him in place sooner rather than later. Fancy stadiums mean nothing if you do not have a product or attraction to fill it. Premiership in the foreseeable future,or a return to league one time will tell. There is a famous saying you generally get's what you pay for- No point in wanting platinum managers, if you can only, or i should rephrase want to pay for bronze managers. The longer the suspense goes on,the more i believe we are going to be very much disappointed with the outcome. Are we having the same senario with managers, as players, turning us down as we go through the pecking order.
If its true, I pray for Stuart Pearce.. at least he could attract a player or two.. Incidentally he was just asked directly about the Bristol City job and said its a job he would definitely travel to discuss.
Stuart Pearce just been on Talksport....says he has had NO contact with BCFC, but when pushed, said if the club WERE to contact him he would gladly have a chat..
What?? We were all awaiting becoming very happy fans because you told us we would be!! (3 days ago and waiting)
If what or who Banksy is alluding to what I've been told, you will be begging for Pearce. Put it nicely the cat just got a boot when I was informed
IF anyone really knew, they wouldn't be able to stop themselves from telling, so really no one knows anything do they?
Mate of mine reckons hes heard it will be Tisdale, complete bull I hope. If it aint Pearson or Moysie I predict a riot. Please, please not Pemberton.
