I'm personally hoping that with Mac having more influence on transfers... a policy shift is taking place on recruitment.
We seem to be spending more... on the right players.
In addition to those with resale value I'd like to see us look at one or two 'old heads'... i.e. 30+ players who can come in and bring valuable experience into the side.. alongside the likes of the 'born again' Colo.
Not quite sure this will happen but I'm seeing the green shoots of recovery and I think it is essential to have a blend of experience/older players alongside the new.
    Thoughts?

We have some young talent but we definitely need a couple of older heads. Usually it is good to have these in key positions like goalkeeper, centre half, holding midfield, striker. Not necessarily starters but you need them about the place to keep the younguns in check.

Not sure about 30+ but certainly wiser and experienced heads are needed, the best teams are a blend of this along with of course the top end of the talent pool.

It doesn't help in the short term, but I hope in the long-term the club realises that the best way to have the right 30+ players to offer that bit of experience and backbone is by holding onto some of those promising players once their promise is fulfilled.

I was quite optimistic this time last week, the signings of Saviet and Shelvey the draw with Man U and the upcoming winable game with west ham. This was yanked up a notch when we won on Saturday.

However progressively through the week my optimism has steadily declined to pessimism, the failure to move Tiote and Thauvin on, whilst also struggling to find suiters for Williamson, Marv, Obertan, Ferguson and also failing to bring Townsend and Berahino in worries me.

The incoming deals appear to be very much dependant on who goes as well as a change in stance from our perspective in terms of the fees to be paid, are we willing to break the bank?

at the moment the window can only be judged as being ok, if that. we still need to spend, but will other influcing factors prevent us from bringing in the players we require to stay up? Not long left and something has to give, im hoping for a domino effect!
