This is very serious and sad news, but it's the continuation of something that started years ago. Successive governments have essentially made teachers' jobs harder, more bureaucratic, and more removed from the actual business of education. I know a few teachers who have taken early retirement rather than continue to bang their heads against the wall, and doesn't surprise me at all that fewer young people are aiming for a career in what is supposedly the most important profession of all.
Dear god, anyone that hasn't watched Making A Murderer really, really should. I'm only half way through the series but it really is the most astonishing thing I've seen in ages.
Whoa there LTL. I've got Chilco telling me that War & Peace is unmissable and now there's 10 or more episodes of your prog [which does look interesting]. And I'm trying to watch less TV.
There's that curious one with old tobacco tins, etc.. pinned to the walls and people write little notes of social comment or invitation in them. Can't remember the name of it but the beer's good.
It's genuinely astonishing (and it's a documentary, so slightly different - that's the excuse I'm using!!)
Have just started watching (3rd ep) and i have to agree. This is intense and engrossing tv if ever i saw it. The hardest part is not looking online to see what happens.
I'll try my best to resist. This show is truly right up my (possibly psychotic) alley seeing as the likes of OZ are still my favorite drama series of all time and documentary's like the Iceman interviews are a must watch. *sits in a dark corner stroking a shotgun*
There's a great Billy Connolly sketch about it. Was listening to it (in a queue of traffic) the car with the windows down one day and the guy in the next car asked me to turn it up because he wanted to hear it better!
Don't want to boast, but I once sang with a member of Abba. Sadly it wasn't one of the girls though ...............
For you TV watchers I would recommend the latest Scandinavian drama, 'Occupied' on Sky Arts Wednesday evenings. 2 episodes in, but it's worth catch up.. promise..
Thanks, Tigger. Just finished watching the latest series of "Bron" so I'm definitely up for another Scandinavian drama! Cheers!
