The Revenant is a cinematic masterpiece and gets 10 from me, bleak and brilliant, authentic early pre-gold rush wild west and Tom Hardy is magnificent again and deserves an oscar.

I saw Room last night, very good indeed.

The Revenant is ok, but it could do with losing an hour of lingering shots of chattering teeth and grunting.

"Fathers and daughters" not my cup o tea, a bit boring,
Not a Russell Crowe fan (except a beautiful mind)
As per usual the trailer has the best bits....

The Walk is fine, but really it needs to be watched on a big screen, for obvious reasons.

One of the few films where 3D, as much as I hate it, kinda makes sense.

I didn't think it would be that funny,

****ing hell America, what the **** were you doing..
    A very highly recommend film....

Really getting into X-Files again, the old series stands up brilliantly and will watch the movies in sequence. Not sure the new series due soon will be any good but making sure I'm up to date again with all the old plot details.

I dont understand why on threads like this people reference wider reviews as if populist or critical approval or awards wins makes something better. Either you like it or you dont, it's got nothing to do with anyone else's opinion. Any critic is just a person, I always wonder why their opinion is so revered? Just cos you've eaten in a lot of restaurants or watch 10 new films a week it doesn't mean you're a better judge. Am I a better judge of the latest Hull City performance than someone else because I saw hundreds of games over the past 20 years? No, no I'm not. I remember The Phantom Menace getting 5 star reviews all over the ****ing shop and people swallowing it left right and centre.

Titanic won the Academy Award for best picture, Pans Labyrinth and Goodfellas didnt.

    Two very different films yesterday.

Rewatched 'The Wolverine' AKA 'Logan goes to Japan' (7/10) to lighten the mood after a very tense 'Spotlight' (8/10). Slow start but as more conspiracy is uncovered, the more the jaw drops.

The fact that Spotlight is true makes it even more jaw dropping, almost unsettling. It's a superb film, if any film is going to beat The Revenant for Best Picture, it's that one.

The Wolverine is what that godawful Origins movie made years ago should've been.

I watched both Legend & The Revenant & thought they were both good films.

Didn't pay for them though, **** that for a bag o chips. I've been to the pictures twice in the last month, they've had more than enough out of me to last a good 12 months.
