    No but I think most people would expect the starting point to be at least the same as you're on. If your employer values you less than currently and others think you are worth more, you move on if you can, which he has done.

    No I'm suggesting that a club who have taught him everything he knows,paid him big money when injured and in growing up,at a cost of probably millions,is owed a bit more than 3 good games.

    Murphy thought he had been below expectations and took a cut,Byram had done nothing for 12 months but eventually we offered him the same deal despite him only playing 3 good games for his £600,000 a year wage.

    Of course we're bigger. They're moving into a new 60k stadium which they expect to fill. They're in the top half dozen of the pl chasing a champions league spot. But we're doing better than all that <doh>

    Like you said earlier he was paid to do his job, which he has done, it's a matter of opinion as to how well or not he did it.

    West Ham have given him a four and a half year contract presumably on around 30k a week. What have we to offer to compete with that

    I was responding to your post about him taking a years extension so we could sell for more rather than long term. Let's face it the only way he would have stayed was if it looked like we had a chance of going up.

    We still did have a chance on the run up to Xmas but he was still hell bent on going. Funny thing too, his suddenly a West Ham supporter. Wonder had Liverpool shown interest, would he have supported them as a youngster. Not sure these players have a clue what real support is really about

    Eire. Apparently he said today that he made his mind up to leave when Cellino publicly criticised him, not sure when that was.
