Good point, but think we still need a CB. One CB signing wont totally cure what has been a really weak and shaky defense.

I hope he plays in that role. But no harm in adding a quality midfielder in behind him who can run beyond and create/score goals. Almost someone to challenge Howson?

That said, i hope it doesnt signal the end of Wes completely... he has had some wonderful games early this year and we could still see him help us over the line!

Yes, as long as Wes is used as a sub and not in the starting 11. <ok>

I dunno. I get the impression that Naismith is quite a bit more 'direct' than Wes.

I'll be sad to see him go, he is a natural finisher. I know his effort wasn't there, but I'm sure it would have been if he was played more.

Or in a formation that played to his strengths. Never really achieved what he was capable of in the yellow and green, sadly.
I shall wish him well if / when he leaves the club <ok>

Letting Hooper go is the right move. Would only be fair to let Lafferty move on for his euro chances. Don't think we desperately need a new striker, I'm with anyone who wants to see a centre back.

Depending on where Neil sees Naismith playing predominantly, won't selling Hooper and Lafferty leave us a bit thin on the ground up front?

If the intention is to play Naismith as an attacking mid in place of Wes, that leaves us one striker and one on the bench. If Naismith is meant as a striker then we've still only got 3, which is on the limit. I'd be surprised if we let both go without signing someone first. Unless we need the money from Hooper to finance a deal, I'd rather it was Lafferty who left. I could well see Lafferty leaving at the 11th hour on deadline day.

Leicester have loaned Kramaric to Hoffenheim for the rest of the season, so that's the end of that vague link.

Maybe now Leeds have the money for Sam Byram they'll decide to buy Lafferty?

By the sounds of things the Hooper deal to Sheffield Wednesday is a done deal.

That's true, but mainly in the Championship. In the PL, if you lose the midfield battle, you lose the match. Playing two strikers is a luxury most PL clubs can't afford. He was our best striker in the relegation season, but largely because of Elmander's hard work. The problem was that the 4 man midfield failed behind them. Hooper is a good player, but his game doesn't suit the PL.

Fair comment RER and as you say he can't really operate as a lone striker!!!

The Mirror reckon we've offered Redmond a new long term deal, but he's unsure whether he sees his future at Carrow Road. The sort of story which seems very plausible whether there's any truth in it or not.

Thing is I can't see any of the big clubs wanting him?

He isn't developing like I thought he would. He just lacks that extra trick to beat a player at times.
