I may surprise most of you !
I can actually see some point that Toby's trying to make - regarding [his] suspicion of alleged racism in the Oscars, but Toby has not produced any provable evidence.
I hope that racism doesn't exist in Hollywood ( or anywhere else ) - but that doesn't mean that bigotry is dead.

My sadness in the situation of racism extends to what I call 'reverse racism' - where the 'race card' is played by minority groups - because they have been excluded or didn't get the job etc, in preference to a 'white' skinned person. In these cases the person doing the choosing or hiring can do no right for doing wrong ! In these cases the unsuccessful person then plays the 'race card' - usually without a shred of evidence - but do you ever hear of a 'white skinned' person claiming racism when they are unsuccessful ?

Toby should have been a little more objective, and would have achieved more agreement. People should be judged on their merits - not skin colour. In the case of the Oscars, ALL actors of equal performance should be nominated ( I believe that was Toby's point ). All human life deserves dignity - even Toby - but as he has posted the definition of a hypocrite, may I remind him of that definition when he uses the term ***** or spastic when complaining that other people are being racist.

 

We all know that Jews control Hollywood if that's what you are getting at ?

 

Not what I mean - In an ideal world, I wouldn't want any racism to exist. We can all make individual choices - but too often the choices we make have some bias attached. Bias often leads to resentment - which leads to hostility - which leads to conflict - by which time a war has started.

Treat your neighbour as you would want them to treat you -there might just be a break out of peace !
