Put him in a Championship side for a run of games (if he can stay fit) and he'll score. I've written him off from our point of view though.
If City are going to play 4-5-1 (sort of) then they need someone who will give it 100% for 90 minutes. Mason has limitations but at least won't shirk. Would Macheda though? I'd prefer Doyle.
A goal every 3.5 games ratio is miles better than any of our midfielders............ And any of our strikers......
Does this mean he's the driving attacking midfielder our midfield has lacked since Mutch? (When he could be bothered)
Interesting, seems to have gone off the boil in the last 2 seasons. No obvious reason. Courts a bit of controversy with some anti-Semitic comments about Ajax's Jewish fans.
Well at 29 years of age we should know what we're getting. Not some youngster (one for the future ) nor a lower league journeyman wannabe from the bottom reaches of our own divisions. If he can add some steel to our midfield - especially if we play 5 in there - and also get forward with runs into the box, it could be a good move.
Read that Leeds are in for Watt http://www.sevenoakschronicle.co.uk...Athletic-ace/story-28568763-detail/story.html
As far as I can remember, the last player we got on loan from Feyenoord before signing him permanently was Glen Loovens and he didn't turn out to be too bad - unless you ask Paul Parry of course.......
Can't speak Dutch ( I often speak Double Dutch though ) but I'm given to understand that this says Lex Luther is meeting with Cardiff today. http://www.fcupdate.nl/voetbalnieuws/291166/feyenoorder-immers-in-onderhandeling-met-cardiff-city/
Google translates as this "After Lex hopes to continue his career at Cardiff City. Earlier in the day it was announced that the midfielder preys on a transfer to a foreign club. His current employer Feyenoord gave him permission to negotiate with the Championship combination. After training for that reason today (Wednesday) no longer participate in the selection of Rotterdam. The Hague-born played in recent months only a modest role in the plans of coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Due to its regular spot on the podium, he was keen to another club to get started. Indeed, by the number three in the Eredivisie another contract until 2017. If he actually leaves Feyenoord midfielder Renato Tapia FC Twente in their sights in order to strengthen the selection"
WOL has a Dutch football expert talking about our probable new signing. I'll give you the highlights What kind of player is he? Immers is an attacking midfielder who, thanks to his height, is good in the air. He is not blessed with pace, creativity or technique, but he is a hard working player who gets into good positions and, although he misses a lot of chances, he can find the net often enough and is not a selfish player. can't ****ing wait!
Sounds like me in my prime apart from the getting into good positions and finding the net bits. I get the impression he is a box to box guy at his own pace but a bit of a battler who doesn't shirk challenges. While we can use silky skills it won't do any harm to have someone who puts in a shift and gets stuck in. If nothing else the fans will take to him with those attributes.
Wolves are reportedly eyeing a £1.6m bid for Joe Mason while Preston are keen to snap up Eoin Doyle on a permanent basis. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...cardiff-city-transfers-reports-claim-10766775
So, Jones gone, we can't buy or loan Watt, Revell and Macheda could be on their bikes, Mason could be sold (nice profit, hope Plymouth don't have a sell on clause) and Doyle to be sold too, Le Fondre on season loan with no recall (as I understand it) and he doesn't want to come back (would we want him). As strikers that leaves us with................................................................Saadi - 20 minutes and injured. Am I missing something or someone? Something not adding up here.
