I expect we'll see a few bodies at the departure gate now - Hooper, Laffs, Whittaker (loan), Godfrey (loan), Thompson (loan) as a guess .....
Oh right. Seeing as thought he'll never play a first team game, I'm guessing it will stand at £150k then.
Happy with Naismith but still want to see another CB come in - again doesn't have to be a World-beater but just somebody to challenge Bassong and cover for injuries. Not really sure we need Wisdom any more now we have Pinto, Martin and Whittaker. BTW I've never really rated Ryan Bennett, I always have and still do see him as an average squad player with occasional flashes of brilliance. He is equal to Martin and slightly worse than Bassong. One thing I hope Klose brings to the team is goals from corners and free kicks; that is one thing we all have been missing from Hughton's tenure.
Russ We have Wisdom on a season long loan from the Scallies and so unless we cancel that and send him back, he's ours for the duration. I suspect we may let Whittaker go out on loan (maybe to a Championship side) as we have Pinto, Martin and Wisdom to cover RB.
Good point. I didn't think he had any noticeable prowess in the air, but wikipedia tells me he does score on average every 15 matches or so... which is pretty good! I guess Turner was our main aerial threat in recent years. We don't really have anyone else.
If someone offers sensible money for Whittaker I'd be tempted to take it, but a long loan and reassessing at the end of the season is probably most sensible. Pinto might be a flop, Wisdom will leave, and we could be in the championship - and then Whittaker becomes very useful. Glad to see Naismith sorted. Any other business now would be a much welcome bonus, and we've still got nearly two weeks to play with.
So basically, at this point in time, we're the biggest spenders for this transfer window in England (and Europe?? The world??).
SN: “I’m very happy to have signed because now I can concentrate on the football side of things,” “Norwich have displayed class in the way they’ve done their business all the way through. They’ve shown how much they wanted me, which is great, and I’m delighted to be here.” What say you now, Naismith-slaters??
Ah yes good point although Bournemouth's total outlay this season is £40m!!! imagine if they don't stay up...
