So potential buyers will offer less knowing the club are desperate or hope to get the club out of administration but accept that there may be more competition by waiting for that.
Neil Lennon: Bolton manager admits players could opt to leave... Bolton manager Neil Lennon is worried that some players could choose to leave if they are not paid this month. The club are £172.9m in debt and facing a winding up petition from HMRC over £600,000 of unpaid taxes. Players were not paid in November and can choose to terminate their contracts with two weeks' notice if the same happens this month. "That is their right and at this time of year it's a huge concern if they're not getting paid," Lennon said. "I remember being in Glasgow when it happened to Rangers and players used their right to leave Rangers and go and play in England. "So that scenario is a realistic possibility and that would be another devastating blow. "No-one's come forward to suggest that just yet, but time is of the essence and it's a really difficult time of year for everyone, including players." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35094217

Club statement surrounding The Football League's Financial Fair Play regulations Bolton Wanderers can announce that due to the on-going situation off-the-field that the club were not able to submit a Financial Fair Play return to The Football League for the 2014/15 season. As a result, the club will not be permitted to sign any players until it has complied with its obligations under the Championship’s Financial Fair Play regulations. Bolton Wanderers Finance Director Anthony Massey said: “The club were unable to submit an FFP return to The Football League. The board have been unable to sign off the annual report and accounts for the financial year ending 30 June 2015 during the current financial difficulties the club are experiencing. “This is especially disappointing as, based on our draft financial results for the year ended 30 June 2015, we believe we would have achieved FFP. “Until both the short and longer term funding issues the club are currently facing are resolved, the directors will not be in a position to sign the accounts.” http://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/article/...t-ffp-return-2867213.aspx#fyEzhGyeJGYmsDmD.99
Bolton Wanderers: Club may get more time to find investment Bolton's winding-up petition hearing scheduled for 18 January may be delayed, says manager Neil Lennon. The Championship club are £172.9m in debt and under a transfer embargo until the end of the season for breaching Financial Fair Play rules. They reportedly need to raise at least £600,000 before Monday, or face going into administration. "Speaking to [club advisor] Trevor Birch he seems confident that there are things that can be done," Lennon said. "We may get an extension to the tax hearing on Monday, which is good news and buys us a bit more time to get investment in." Administration would trigger a 12-point penalty and leave bottom side Bolton 18 points adrift of safety at the foot of the Championship table.
Sad for the fans but Bolton have reaped what they have sowed. At least they wont have to play Aston Villa next season.
David Conn @david_conn As expected, Bolton Wanderers winding up petition adjourned, but club is still in a deep financial crisis after owner stopped funding.
Bolton trying to sell the car park to raise funds. Other assets under consideration as well. How much for a dozen programme booths ?
Hope the planning authority didn't impose a condition on the planning permission that the spaces shall be available for home matches and other events held at the stadium. Can see the other retail outlets being concerned that supporters will use the spaces provided for shoppers.
If they sell the car park for development, there won't be a car park to use for events at the stadium.
Then it could be open for the planning authority to refuse permission for development of the car park because of inadequate car parking for the stadium.
