A journalist with a big list of followers, he mentions in his bio that he follows Liege. Maybe something in it. Can you put it past these jokers?
it really does amaze me that we can sign players like this. imagine the conversation with the 'mare : "when you sign, they will hate you. they will hate you because of things i've done, because i'm inept, because i lie, because i am the chief scout and because i'm xenophobic". the poor player must think that moving to england and playing second tier football means he'll be made for life, that it's a new start for him and his family. imagine how that all comes crashing down when he walks out for the first time. it must be pretty harsh being one of these network slags, especially when most footballers only have the intellect of a 15/16 year old (or whatever age they were when they gave up school).
I alwsys remember when Bebeto signed for Seville. He arrived in a fanfare of happiness, but after a couple of games he was obviously unhappy. When asked why, he replied that he thought he'd be playing in a top club, and had'nt realised he'd be in a relegation fight. He walked out at christmas, and Seville got relegated. Do these footballers not look at the league table to check who they are signing for. Mind, that's probably the only sort of footballer we could aspire to this season. Illiterate ones.
Interesting re Bebeto as he was affectionately known as a ''footballing good guy''. He was going to sign for a Scottish side too - though it escapes me. It wasn't one of the bigger teams.
Interesting conversation on 5live last night about Charlie Austin- he went for a £4m transfer fee to Southampton - his contract was out in the summer - have a guess how much the Saints are paying him per week....
Great news about Teixiera signing, I have just made a hole in my trousers on hearing the news (I won't say which side of my trousers) PATHETIC CHUFF SIGNING I see we fought of stiff competition from a team in the MLS for his signature. 3.5 year contract too, saddling the Club in League One next season with more naff overpaid nobodies who don't want to be here. They NEVER learn
Surely sone sort of financial investigation needs to be opened into these questionable (at best) signings. I'm no expert but it all smells fishy to me...!!
To be fair, I imagine all contracts have clauses covering relegation. Either a reduction in wages or a Bosman option. Does not make it right, though.
