The lead guitarist and founder of US rock band Eagles, Glenn Frey, has died, aged 67.

The drummer and founder member of the band Mott The Hoople, Dale Griffin, has died, aged 67.
The band were best known for their song All The Young Dudes, written by David Bowie and performed by them with Bowie on backing vocals.

There are a lot of musicians in their 60s getting nervous right now, apart from Keith Richards because that ****er is immortal! Been a bad start to 2016, RIP Glenn.

Losing one of the Eagles bothered me far more than Bowie tbh. So many personal memories associated with them from when I was a kid.

I guess many of us are at that stage of our lives when many of our childhood musical heroes are leaving the stage for good!

There definitely seems to be a rush for the exit at the minute.

No reason why they should stop touring.

    They've had a few different line-ups already.

Thanks for the music Glenn, however, as a youngster I'd imagined the Eagles as an easy going nice bunch of dudes, but then I watched a documentary about them a couple of years ago, and Glenn Frey particularly came across as a complete arsehole. That's kind of spoilt my image of them.

Not a fan of either bands. Doesnt stop me acknowledging what they did for music though.

Its been a grim time for music lately.

:emoticon-0148-yes:Good post yet more sad news continues in the music scene in 2016 -let's hope similar does'nt happen re premier lge and Sunderland - I really feel we'll survive as I don't feel the negative tensions in crowd as previous relegation years - 3 pts needed though on Sat :emoticon-0141-whew:

    A strange comparison.

Did you know ( i didnt until last night) that Keith Richards (72) is still alive?

For some strange reason i thought he died years ago.

Hummm -<doh> yes C probs a bit odd but the loss to me of premiership football is going to have a bigger impact on my life than than the death of these brilliant musicians.
BTW - I did know KR was still alive - of the recent deaths Dave Bowie has had the most effect for me as I grew up listening to his musical "views" - brilliant :emoticon-0148-yes:
