Afternoon Est, could do with some warmer weather down here in Southampton pal. Agree with your comments. Player should have been booked.
I think you might find PMT was hinting at the lack of progress, if you and the glee club start to recognise it and stop talking positive bollocks that might be a start.. Are you skiving again this week? You do less work than Kim....
Yep 18 is a bit chilly, but the 30s and 40s can wait for the summer, plus we dont have all those snakes spiders crocs and sharks that you lot have. Oh the peseta those were the days now we have the crappy euro, Have a ripper day blue.
Afternoon all, Don't we have a qualified ref on here? Hope so, to clear up the disallowed goal situation. My view: It is within the laws of the game for the referee to change his mind once a decision is given - therefore he can decide that the substitution 'pantomime' has taken too long & resume play. As I understand it, this is quite within the rules, as the actual player exchange had not taken place - nor was it likely to happen quickly, tbh. The behaviour of the exiting player constituted 'ungentlemanly conduct' IMO, and should have resulted in a yellow card before he left the field of play. There is no difference between this and a goalkeeper wasting time with a goal kick, FB taking too long with a throw-in etc. So, IMO, the goal should have stood, and yellow card awarded, and then the substitution allowed before the restart. Can our ref tell me why this scenario was not played out? Am I wrong in my assumption? Was the referee indeed correct & we're just biased? TBH, I'm not a great fan of referees. I can still remember that little barsteward Ellery punching the air at Anfield when the bin dippers scored against us, claiming he was 'celebrating making a correct advantage decision'. My arse!
Yeh, it was in the 'the dog ate my homework' class of excuses that one. This was pathetic, he looked round clocked him, then let play on. We're biased but my view is once he'd done that both sides were playing to the whistle. He then had to shaft one of the teams and decided to shaft the away team. Anyone remember Clive Thomas disallowing a Brazil goal in the 78 World Cup against Sweden after blowing full time when a corner was in mid air! They weren't too happy.
Firstly lets just say the Ref made a bit of a calamity, but the actual decision regarding our goal was correct, the incident just being further highlighted because the ref incorrectly blew his whistle to continue the game without checking the substituion was complete. Law 3 states that a substitution can only take place during a stoppage of the game, and that substitution is only completed when the substitute enters the field of play. So hence the ref was incorrect to signal the commencement of the game, as obviously the substitution hadn't been completed. However Forestieri should have then been cautioned as failing to leave the pitch in a timely manner, would be covered under rule 12 Fouls and Misconduct, whereby a substitute or substituted player is cautioned if he commits any of the following three offences: unsporting behaviour dissent by word or action delaying the restart of play
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ier-league-championship-and-la-liga-decisions We're mentioned, game not allowed to start until substitution complete and exiting player is off the field, basically agrees with Aski On another note, I did cringe at Evans afterwards and his "everyone against Leeds" speach..
Your not been qualified doesn't stop you pontificating usually. Welldone on showing restraint (sort of) in this case.
Thanks, Aski. Do you get the feeling I might have been a wee bit biased? Btw, whatever happened to 'ungentlemanly conduct'? Have they finally realised that all the sports-minded gentlemen play with an egg now?
A lot do, I don't buy into we are treated any different because we are Leeds. I buy into the fact owners/managers are sometimes judged on past 'issues'. Cellino is a marked man, the FL will hound him forever because of what he does and has done, if he is hit unfairly hard it will be because of who he is rather than 'it's Leeds' that's the way I see it anyway
