Report outlines Queens Park Rangers' asking price for Matt Phillips John Verrall @JohnVerrall Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips is reportedly of interest to West Bromwich Albion, Watford and Bournemouth. please log in to view this image According to a report in Get West London, Queens Park Rangers are looking for £4 million for Matt Phillips. Embed from Getty Images The winger has become one of the most sought after players in the Football League in January, with a number of top level clubs taking a look at him. West Bromwich Albion, Watford and Bournemouth are all keen to sign Phillips, and QPR are reportedly willing to sell if their asking price is met. Rangers realise that their chances of being promoted this season are looking slim, and they are now planning to reduce their wage bill. QPR have one of the most expensive squads in the Championship and they have already sanctioned a move to allow Charlie Austin to join Southampton. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is also said to be ready to sell Rob Green, with Phillips another potential departure in the near future. please log in to view this image If Phillips does leave QPR in the coming week, he will have said goodbye in style - as he scored in the London side’s 3-0 victory over Rotherham United at the weekend.
Flash sale. Not brilliant but I can't see a reason he is now being sold so cheap considering the apparent prices banded about in the summer
Have to agree different situation to Charlie as we don't need to sell & definitely not at bargain basement prices.
WELL THE LOSS OF WARNOCK MEANT WE HAVE NO MANAGER SO WE MAY AS WELL SELL TOP PLAYERS UNTILL WE RID OURSELVES OF LES AND JIMMY FLOYDE WE ARE IN A TROUBLE SO GOODBYE MATTY ITS A SHAME TO SELL ALL OUR TOP PLAYERS BUT WE HAVE NO MANAGEMENT SO WE FALL HOPELESSLY INTO FREE FALL
He was never in a million years ever going to sell for the £10 mil quoted in the summer; and he definitely hasn't played well enough to justify a £8mil move (which we should have sold him for in the summer). I personally, would have quoted £5.5mil because I think clubs would pay that in January. I'd sell him though, there's cheaper players available who can do just as much if not more.
We need Phillips to supply quality crosses to Polter or whoever. We have no one else with that quality, and it will be difficult to find for many millions. Too many changes could send us into a relegation fight. Charlie gone, Green and Sandro could follow with little pain, but then we need to keep the experience of the likes of Phillips, Fer, Ned, Hall, Henry and Ale.
Phillips can frustrate the hell out of me, but when he's on his game, his crosses are more than decent. We need to keep his qualities, for all the inconsistencies
I think, like it or not, that they have to get the wages off the balance sheet. Hence all the big earners being offered at bargain prices. If we f*ck up FFP this season we'll get the embargo next...
You have to hope that everyone had relegation clauses that would keep us within FFP boundaries. But hey, that would be too easy......
Club is still here, undestroyed, last time I looked you tiresome old WUM. We won our last game, bet you hated that.
Ted, do you have anything else to say? The same f*cking reply on every thread. If it's not totally bollox 'poetry' it's Les. F*ck off back to WATRB...
