Nostalgia and sentiment! And the Arsenal game. Wasn't helped by the crowd of young'uns behind us talking all the way through...
At least 10 years back my brother got a DLP projector and bought a 96" window blackout blind from IKEA. The blind was so good for £20 he went back to get a spare. This I mounted on his ceiling so that it could be rolled up just in front of a thick curtained window at the far end of the room. Connected to the projector is a computer for streaming HD films and a DVD player. He has a huge old hi-fi connected to all of this too with enormous monitor speakers. I remember the first time we sat down, popcorn, the lot and watched Master & Commander on it. Being a projection, it required the room lights be turned off and we all thought it was the best cinema experience we'd had for years. It was great. The display was very good and the sound was thunderous. In fact it was only clearly beaten overall by my experience of watching Gravity in IMAX 3D, a couple of years back, sat in premier seats . That was awesome [and I never use that word lightly]. A good home projector setup can have its moments, if done right. And you can tell people to shut up and get away with it.
Great, evidence of fixing of high profile tennis matches, including at Wimbledon, has been unearthed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/35319202
Not bad. The best bits (of course) are the Snoopy and Woodstock bits. There is a decent message for us young ones and it's relatively watchable. Probably too long for littke 'uns though - much boredom and moving around about halfway through (from the kids as well as me) I think I preferred the old 30 minute TV ones to be honest And it's not a patch on Shaun the Sheep or Paddington movies .....
Scary. Why betting on sports shouldn't be allowed in my opinion. Always going to be a risk .... (Can't help wondering if some of the refs we've had at St Mary's this season haven't been tapped up )
Awful at Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. Wonder what happened? http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknew...uth-football-pitch/ar-BBolP94?ocid=spartandhp
On train now heading south out of Amsterdam. I am hoping for a bonus visit to Feyernoord's stadium as the chap I'm meeting tomorrow is a Feyernoord fan. I'll get the low down on Vilhena and Clasie and find out whom else we should be signing in the summer
