Sorry if it's been posted, but a video on here, from BT Sport, saying what a good buy Klose would be for Norwich. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic..._seal_timm_klose_wolfsburg_transfer_1_4382658
I see Naismith is having a medical this morning......maybe they should give Redmond one, see if they can find a footballer in there!!!
In his defense, as i understand it, Haller WAS in Norwich with a view to sign but then turned down the offer? Naismith and Klose would be good signings! I am still hoping for a decent CM! O'Neil, Dorrans and Howson (less so) are not really good enough for the Prem. Howson, in fairness, does have games where he looks like he could be, but the other two are quite often found out. None of them are creative enough.
Howson Odjidja-Ofoe Mulumbu O'Neil Tettey Dorrans (Thompson ?) I can't see us bringing in another player who can play at CM unless we let one or two go first.
I know... just wishful thinking! Perhaps a right mid (who can actually cross) then? That would allow Vadis to play more centrally?
I think Howson is definitely PL standard. The trouble is it's a team game and he can't do it by himself. If you have to carry Dorrans or Redmond, your own chances of shining are limited. Bah!
Problem we have is currently all the way down the right side. Martin is not PL calibre as a defender and recent options of Vadis and (to an extent) Redmond tend not to track back enough to help cover his failings - all of which leaves us exposed and gappy down that side of the pitch. At least Jarvis would aid his full back more (as did Elliott Bennett - on the few occasions he could get a game for us!)
Trouble with that is you then have to play Brady at Left mid... unless Olsson learns how to defend, AN will not do that.
Elliott Bennett would have made a good full back. Not quite quick enough or direct enough to be a winger imo. Quick enough to be a Full back as that position is more about keeping up with rather than beating your man. I never though he was quite up to PL level. Quite agree that our right side needs sorting. Think Vadis needs to play more centrally. I would play Jarvis on the right, but id rather have Brady at LB than left wing. Naismith may end up playing as a right mid for us? He does it for Scotland and mostly for Everton as well. He would work hard and he adds quality of delivery.
It never ceases to amaze me that people who would take weeks and months over buying a car, buying a house or changing their own job think that a multi million transfer of a player can be wrapped up in a flash. Terms were agreed with Everton very early on. Naismith turned up with his agent to look at the facilities, speak to the Manager and agree personal terms. He returned the following week with his wife for a 3 day detailed look at the area. Other Clubs were interested and had approached his agent. He returned at the weekend having thought everything through and it looks as if he is going to sign. Unreasonable hesitation - I don't think so !! If anyone doubts his commitment I would suggest that you bear in mind that he is taking a small wage cut to come here, has turned down a better package from one of our rivals and is coming because he thinks he will get more game time here and preferred what he heard and has seen about the way we play the game. If Klose is the player I mentioned in earlier posts then he arrived in Norwich at the same time as Naismith, so it has taken another fortnight to get that one over the line as well. People have to bear in mind that these are major decisions for the Clubs and Players involved and in such circumstances patience is a virtue.
Regarding where Naismith would play for us, I believe in the few games he has started for Everton this season he has been deployed on the left side (although naturally he has 'roamed' a bit from an outright left wing position).
I think most people have realised their mistakes by now. This has been done to death. He was obviously taking his time for understandable reasons. Those who lost it should, by now, have realised they were being daft. PS... This isn't a jab at you 1950
