Charlie Austin is now the official currency unit when discussing transfers.

 

Rumours are then that Liverpool are looking to offload Lallana and will struggle to recoup the 6 Charlie Austins they paid for him.

They have even less chance of getting the 5 Charlie Austins they paid for Lovren

Graziano to Chelsea anyone.
1) buying a striker doesn't mean we want to sell one and go back to only 2 fit strikers.
2) not offering a new contract to a player STILL under contract does not mean you want to sell immediately.
3) we haven't had time to judge Austin yet
4) would Chelsea even want Pelle....if they do, we sure as hell do.

 

Have we done something to upset Garth Crooks?? In his often laughable team of the week he somehow makes the link when talking about JWP to suggest the arrival of Austin means Mane will be off. So apparently we shouldn't have the luxury of a squad with options then...

 

As Mr N. Atkins once said, 98% of football rumours are total fiction, the rest is just made up. Even the reporting of actual facts is not 100% accurate most of the time. Reporters have to fill a blank page, anything will do!

 

Everybody upsets Crooks if they don't agree with him. He's just a grumpy old pundit.

 

Hmmm! He can't even get in the toolbox,let alone be sharp.

 

However, without any doubt at all, he certainly is a tool.

 

I wonder if we're done now we've got a striker in, or...if we might look at the loan market. I like a loan in January, try before you buy for the summer. And at the very least gives you options without commiting yourself.

Think they should ponder a bit longer!

 

Crooks was, IMO, initially employed to tick the "token black pundit, in a predominantly white role" ** box, when PC was starting to rear it's head. He's never been a decent pundit.
There are plenty better pundits of all nationalities and colours, than Crooks, but for some reason, like Mark Larenson, he sticks like Velcro.
Maybe he's cheap?

Still think Pelle will move on in the summer.

 

Norwich close to signing Naismith for £8.5m and Klose (Wolfsburg) for £8m. So over £16m on two ok players.

 

Sort if have a hard time seeing hoiw that doesn't happen. At his age, with Austin now in the fold we seem unlikely to give him an extension. And he seems unlikely to want to sign one now as well.

If sold during the summer we could still get some money for him, and he could probably get a 3 year deal somewhere as a starter. It would be win-win.
