Good Morning Everyone, It was not meant to be. Goal mouth scramble for Leeds - ball eventually gets cleared Goal mouth scramble for the Wendies Dallas takes a shot at goal, Keeper fumbles. Doukara flufes the rebound. Foriestri takes a shot - Silvestri fumbles. Hooper taps in to an empty net. With respect, Leeds had 3 times as many corner, more shots at goal, and only one less shot on target. Saturday was all about Leeds NOT taking their chances in front of goal, and yet again switching off directly after half time. Agree? Let's talk about the Leeds goal that was disallowed! Reason, The Wendies had not completed their substitution! Lets look at the facts. 1) Ref blew his whistle for the corner to be taken 2) There was absolutely no chance of it being offside 3) At the time it was 11 v 11 as Foriestri was still on the pitch, walking off. From the resultant corner, it got cleared off the line by Pudil, who should have been sent off for what should have been a second bookable in as many minutes. I wonder what would have happened if the Leeds players had accused the ref of cheating, and walked off the pitch back to the dressing room. At least that would have highlighted the injustice! Thoughts?
Morning Elland and all. Games balance themselves out over a season. We flukes a point against the MK Dons then we give away points this week. Our lack of a quality striker is killing us but I'm not going to keep repeating it. Our current lot can't tap in goals from three yards
Morning all... Thought Wednesday edged it, easy penalty early doors when Bellusci pulled their man to the ground. Disallowed goal, truth is it should never have stood, ref shouldn't have blown his whistle to restart in the first place. What he should have done is disallowed the goal and send their guy off for unsporting behaviour or interfering with play when he shouldn't have been on the pitch still. In all though a pretty good performance, just a bit goal shy.
Wolves fans on Twitter are all against wasting money on Chris Wood, all hoping they are not trying to sign him.
Just send the guy off who had not yet left the pitch meaning the substitution wasn't complete so guy replacing him couldn't come on. Wednesday couldn't then claim he wasn't interfering with play otherwise goal would stand. Either way, don't think we would have got the second, I was pleased with the play in general but they did just deserve it. So many times I have watched us play a good 15 minutes this season, we are now at leasing looking good for in excess of 45 minutes
Morning all from sunny spain18c How long did it take their player to leave the pitch??!!!!!! Players that are not injured should be made to jog off the pitch, not stroll about milking the crowd.
Morning all. Match incidents are part and parcel of every fans debates on how we were robbed by a, b or c incident. Overall we did not deserve to win the game and even a draw is a waste of time at this time in the season. 19 games to go and we are in for the rest of the season with next to no point for a Leeds fan. Mid table with little chance of being involved in either end. We have fans on the forum having major debates about whether we might finish 2 or 3 points more than last season. !! Discussion on whether we might get into top half of table. !! What have we become ? We have become a regular Championship side with fantastic supporters but no constructive leadership. No doubt next season we will all be dreaming that it could be "our year" for promotion. Although even challenging a play off spot would at least be an improvement. My only hope is that we are sold ASAP to someone who has the knowledge, finance and commitment to regain the status we once held. BUT ................
Cool morning,eh? We had 25oC before the sun came up. Mind you, the dollar is worth a lot more that peso, or piso or pesata or what ever, so we deserve more sunshine.
Millwall, the great ones, had three chances and took them all. How about that then? (Touch of the Jimmy Savilles there, did you see that?) You could learn from us.
Morning Elland and all El,seems a bit harsh you wanting a player sent off for conceding a corner. Now if you are referring to the free kick that was taken that led to the goal that was then disallowed, then I may possibly agree with you
Morning all and morning Dave Agree completley with your post, its just so depressing last year, this year, next year all the same. Nice to read this mornings post's without the girls having there usuall cat fights. Someone cheer me up please.
All I ever here is about is our fantastic support. Personally, I think the atmosphere at Elland Road is rotten these days. I can't blain the fans after what we've had to put up with but it feels subdued and it only takes 10 minutes of nothing happening before the fans really get on the backs of the players. Away teams know if they turn the crowd against the players after 20 minutes etc they will be able to come away with the points.
Hi PD - I have liked this and agree with 99% of what you have said. My big concern is, whilst we do have fantastic supporters and, that would manifest itself very quickly with a bit of success or even hope of success, if it does not happen relatively quickly, where are the next generation of fans going to come from? Rev makes the point a bit further down that, actually the atmosphere at Elland Road with 20k fans can very quickly be turned into anything but fantastic so even that selling point to potential new fans is going, never mind the very mediocre football on display.
