Running around a lot should never be enough for a top side. The mere fact that you would relish his arrival speaks volumes. He's spectacularly average
Can seemed to be the catalyst for the whole team fading about three-quarters of the game through. I would say Van Gaal was some tactical genius playing for that, or that the Mata substitution was the cause of it, but all would have been irrelevant had we a forward who could ****ing score.
On the topic of Lallana, we could have got Griezemann that same summer - now one of the form players in Europe, and has been for the past 12 months.
Never used the word 'relish'. I said, as a forward, I think he'd score more goals than lallana and Firmino. It's either that or shell out £25m+ for Berahino, who seems to have his heart set on Spurs and is £10m over the odds. Long isn't fit enough to clean Studge's boots: but he's fit enough to play, score goal and move: the first of which are uninjured forwards are incapable of, and latter Benteke can't/won't do.
Can't see why we can't do both. get Long in now: buy quality in the summer. We're going to have to shift half the squad anyway. Be honest, if Klopp doesn't already know he soon will - he's got a mid-table squad on top-six wages.
Was Joe Allen on the bench today? Feel bad for him - think he's played well every time he's played under Klopp and is far more deserving than Milner.
again we are already chock full of forwards why ass another to the wage bill this idea it is easy to sell 7-10 players for the money required to replace them strikes me unlikely unless we pick up cheap gems which since jan 13 seems unlikely
Firmino has scored goals in that false 9 position to be fair. But it's the same when Benteke starts - we shouldn't be relying on just the striker to score goals. We need the midfielders to support the attacks and do more. Henderson tries and often gets into good positions but I think he lacks composure in front of goal. Milner is just poor, Lallana has very little output, Can doesn't get into those positions often enough.
I may be a little harsh but I'm slightly concerned with Clyne. When he first came in, I thought he would be excellent going forward but poor defensively. Up until recently, it was the other way around - he was brilliant defensively and poor going forward. But over the past 1-2 months, his form has dipped a little and mistakes are creeping into his game. Hopefully it's just a minor blip.
agreed our midfield turns in a pitiful amount of goals whilst not feeding the forward (whoever it is) in the way they want/require.
when fans are calling for their disappointment at klopp for not playing allen, then you know something is very wrong at the FC
I love the 19 appearances you quoted. Fail to mention that he only started 13 of those games. Furthermore, it also fails to highlight that he's only played 1000 mins across 19 appearances as well. If that wasn't enough, I think he's only played the false 9 role 4 or 5 times as well.
